General Manager Virtual Care

Position Description 

Company allows primary care clinicians to gain access to insights from medical specialists, so they are empowered to make better decisions for their patients. We are seeking a General Manager of Virtual Care to manage our go-to-market strategy for new products as well as execute on that strategy, measure results and continuously calibrate. In this role, you will own the P&L for new businesses and partner across the organization, from product to marketing, finance to operations, to own and advance critical projects on the Company roadmap, and to appropriately commercialize our new offerings, closely supported by SMEs in specific product areas.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Strategic evaluation and operational management of resources who are responsible for the launch activities of new products by driving high performance across cross-functional teams to plan and execute their launch
  • Drive alignment on key decisions that require cross-functional collaboration and impact the work of multiple functions for the successful launch of new products
  • Lead the development of commercialization strategies and tactical plans interfacing with Product, Marketing, Sales, Legal, Ops and a broad cross-functional core team to drive revenue
  • Lead product commercialization process, including competitive analysis, pricing, market segmentation, and continuously monitor for calibration
  • Develop metrics and track the successful execution of the go-to-market and commercialization plans for the launch of products
  • Execute and lead the operational aspects required to commercialize new product launches and ensure internal and external stakeholders are aligned and clear on objectives and timelines 
  • Assess competitive market dynamics and prepare scenarios/plans for key, potentially competitive, events
  • Build COE for the commercialization process
  • Rely on internal SME/clinical product leads for updates on standard of care changes, clinical guidelines and legal for compliance issues; proactively and independently conduct regular market research with AM/BD teams of the CKD, BH and future product competitive landscapes based on our key market segment targets, enabling the team to be fully up-to-date regarding the latest developments in the space(s)
  • Own sales activities for these new products in their infancy including building relationships with key stakeholders at prospect organizations, achieving sales targets, working closely with Legal and Finance on contracts
  • Partner with the leadership team and key stakeholders to achieve strategic and tactical alignment across programs, initiatives, budgets, resources, and timelines
  • Provide frequent updates to leadership regarding results, needs, concerns, and risks on an ongoing basis; own the cadence of these updates/lead regular update meetings
  • Working partnership with VP Product to achieve P&L targets
  • Regularly conduct market feedback and market testing activities to understand our clients’ current and future needs related to future products
  • Own the mapping and gap assessment of the customer/client journey to inform business requirements for new product portfolio; work proactively on integrating new products wherever possible operationally, technically and financially
  • Drive alignment of the strategic priority roadmap with the technology roadmap and engage leadership on resource allocation and priorities based on standard criteria
  • Establish and share oversight of the process of transitioning ownership of mature products to operations management team as part of roadmap

Desired skills and experience: 

  • 10+ years of experience in product development or product marketing, spending significant time on go-to-market activities
  • Healthcare experience, ideally with a healthtech startup
  • Technical acumen, in order to successfully understand our product(s) and partner with product teams
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data analysis to build impactful insights
  • Desire to bring structure to undefined procedures
  • Effective interpersonal skills are required
  • Strategic thinking with an eye to execution
  • Strong client facing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication 
  • Resourceful, organized, and results-oriented
  • Consulting experience or MBA a plus, but not required
