The General Manager, Logistics & Moving is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the office, ensuring company goals and targets are achieved.
The business offers a wide range of services including Freight Forwarding, Logistics, Customs, Storage and Door-to-Door Household Goods Moving.
Key Responsibilities: Managing the day-to-day operations of the Virginia office, ensuring an efficient streamlined service Creating procedures that will increase company efficiency by quickly handle any issues should they occur Monitor customer, market, and competition activity, providing feedback to the leadership team Build excellent relationships with clients Manage P&L budget for the branch Achieve branch profitability goals Manage, develop, encourage, and monitor the performance of staff, ensuring high quality work at all times Identify, address, and resolve any business performance related Develop strategies & formulate business plan to improve both revenues and margins and quarterly budget Experience Required: Extensive Senior Management experience, ideally worked in a Branch/General Manager position in the Logistics, Shipping, Freight Forwarding or Moving industries Excellent knowledge of Logistics, Ocean Freight, Air Freight and/or Household Goods Moving (HHG) Services Previous P&L accountability Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills Strong sales and commercial business acumen Familiar with FAR
