The Store Manager is responsible for leading their team in the operations of a Jellyman store. The role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the store location while upholding food and safety standards, ensuring exceptional hospitality, and managing staffing needs, recruitment, and training. 
In addition to your operational duties, you will also be responsible for fostering a positive and encouraging work environment, coaching and guiding your team, and creating a culture of excellence and teamwork.

Responsibilities
The responsibilities outlined in this description are not all-inclusive of job duties. 
 
Store Operations
  • Maintains high cleanliness standards throughout the store in the areas of store appearance, merchandising, and equipment maintenance. Responsible for both the front of house and back of the house for their store location. The Store Manager is the owner of fostering a welcoming and hospitable environment.
  • Plans executes, and communicates sales and all new products, specials, and promotions effectively and efficiently. Maintains confidentiality and discretion where appropriate. Oversees the training and follows through and the execution throughout the promotion. 
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and well-merchandised retail area, following company visual and safety standards.
  • Schedules regular equipment maintenance and services. 
  • Promotes and practices safe work habits, ensuring compliance with Jellyman’s policies for safety, health, security, and code of conduct. 
 
Hospitality
  • Be the standard for exceptional hospitality and guest service, taking responsibility for the level of service provided by the team member at their location. The store manager shall ensure that all team members will provide guests with exceptional service on a consistent basis.
  • Continuously seeks to improve our standards. Proactively and positively solves customer problems and satisfies customer needs in various situations.
 
People & Culture 
  • Assists management team in ensuring that store location is staffed according to business needs.
  • Identifies staffing needs, recruits, interviews, and hires qualified candidates. 
  • Facilitates ongoing training and development of team members, ensuring each team member has received the proper training to perform their job duties.
  • Continually develops their team’s skills, coaching and guiding for improved performance. Documents developmental plans using performance objectives on a regular basis. 
  • Creates a positive work environment where team members feel encouraged and valued, providing regular coaching and feedback.
  • Consistently monitors Jellyman service standards and team performance.
  • Ensures that all team members are committed and compliant with Jellyman handbook policies. 
 
Business & Financial
  • Manages the day-to-day operations in order to support the business and financial health of the store.
  • Accountable for the profitability of the location, and P&L responsibility. 
  • Executes sales and aims to surpass sales goals that are in line with budgetary objectives.
  • Schedules according to the needs of the business and the team, while maintaining target operational and labor costs.
  • Manages inventory levels and supplies, ordering according to the needs of the business while maintaining target budget and COGS costs.
  • Able to perform all POS duties, including opening and closing procedures. 
 
Culinary Operations
  • Maintains cleanliness, safety, and food safety standards, and all policies and procedures are upheld to the highest standard.
  • Ensures that Jellyman food & drink recipes and procedures are followed, maintaining the highest quality and consistent product standards.
  • Ensures that all Jellyman food and drink offerings maintain the highest quality.
  • Ensures that all team members are educated about our products and services. Develops an understanding of Jellyman offerings, as well as knowledge of boba and tea.
  • Tests product on a per-shift basis for quality assurance. 
 
Desired Skills & Experience
  • 3 years of retail management experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work full time (40  Hours), including variable hours such as mornings, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Ability to lead teams of 10-20 people.
  • Ability to provide exceptional guest service.
  • Experience coaching, training, developing, and motivating others.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.
  • Effective problem-solving & decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency on a computer; familiar with software programs such as GSuite,  Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to stand continuously in a busy café environment
  • Able to lift up to 30-40 pounds frequently
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to present, within three days of hire, documentation demonstrating authorization to be employed in the United States
