General Engineering Manager

Our client is a worldwide leader in the development of High-Performance Substrates, including Epoxy and Laminate Materials for the Electronics PCB Industry . We are seeking a Driven and Competent Engineering Manager to help expand and continue the company’s ongoing growth and transformation. Location: Greater Los Angeles area. Note: Candidates must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (greencard) to qualify Note: In-depth understanding of PCB Manufacturing and Fabrication a MUST Position Overview The Engineering Manager will join and lead the engineering team to execute defined projects, assist in the creation of processes to not only run the factory, but continuous improvement. An expectation for thorough project plans, budgets and timely completion will be critical to success, while working across departments. From time-to-time project work may be asked in order to assist the overall business in its strategic objectives. Key Duties and Responsibilities Lead the Process Engineering Department to ensure the staff continuously focuses on product improvement and to guarantee compliance of all production processes. Lead efforts to improve yields and efficiencies on a continuous basis through various engineering tools. Ensure all Item Master Details and BOM’s are entered into ERP system. Review all BOM’s on a periodic basis to ensure accuracy. Ensure all process and product specifications are established and up to date; manage all process trial runs. Lead effort to develop and implement continual manufacturing process and product improvements ensuring engineering staff use appropriate statistical design and process methodology. Provide support to R&D and Sales in determining product process specifications and costs. Act as a liaison between R&D and manufacturing for new product development and process for the implementation of new products. Assure the engineering department oversees the purchase and implementation of new equipment and capital projects to ensure they deliver the required improvements within budget. Lead Engineering to develop process changes for improved product quality, faster material throughput, reduced costs and greater production efficiency. Supervise, and report on evaluations of new materials and products. Work with Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and efficiency. Lead efforts and projects focused on the continues reduction of FOD in the process. Manage Engineering staff and ensure training for new or updated procedures. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or related Engineering field 6-10 years of engineering (including supervision) experience or equivalent knowledge of PCB Manufacturing including laminating, coating, and fabricating technology Previous experience in R&D, applications engineering and machine design a plus Compensation: 1) Expected annual salary between $140k – $180k (can go higher for highly skilled candidates). 2) Company Bonus plan 3) Company Benefits Compensation levels are determined based on a candidate’s experience and abilities.
