Provide a superior quality product that exceeds the customers’ expectations.

Working knowledge of the department functions, as well as design and prepares flowers and plants, and maintain adequate amount of fresh inventory.

Floral Managers are solely responsible for keeping and maintaining a fresh inventory, processes administrative paperwork and maintains accurate department records.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on providing fast and friendly Customer Service.Assists customers by making product suggestions.Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in-store intercom, and one
– on-one customer interaction.Answers and responds to incoming calls appropriately.

Receive and appropriately resolves customer complaints and reports to Store Director as needed.Specific knowledge of duties performed by all department employees.Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees.Plan daily operation, monitor production process following company procedures and profitability.Prepare sales and inventory reports.

Physical inventory taken every 4 weeks.Orders plants, flowers, related merchandise, and supplies.Know opening and closing department procedures.Working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb EmployeeHandbooks.Train employees in store policies, sales and record keeping procedures.Assist designers and sales employees in completing their tasks.Monitor employees’ productivity and evaluate their overall performance.Initiate personnel actions such as pre-employment interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions.Ability to follow and maintain department standards and requirements such as floral upgrades, balloon upgrades and candy arrangements.Prepares floral designs to Company standards.Takes special orders from customers by telephone or in person.Must order balloons, helium tanks, plants, flowers, accessories, and supplies.

Ensures product freshness and selection.

Monitors and responds to special occasion merchandising requirements, sales trends, ad or seasonal promotions, and customer feedback.Performs receiving duties including breaking downloads, verifying orders using invoices, inspecting quality, reporting shortage, stocking, and rotating product.

Adheres to product temperature and storage guidelines and follows proper packaging techniques.

Properly conditions and handles all indoor and outdoor plants, shrubs, and flowers.

Follows proper processing procedures for all cut flowers.Upgrades plants, makes bows, inflates balloons and prepares bouquets.Processes administrative paperwork and maintains accurate department records.Controls shrink and cost.Attends and participates in sales meetings.

Ensures proper pricing and signage.Implements correct product preparation techniques.

Uses and operates related equipment such as pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, safety cutters, stem cutters, chopper, wire, hot glue guns, spray paint, heat sealing machines and helium tanks.Ensures safety, cleanliness and sanitation of work area, cooler, equipment, and display area, including code date compliance as required.Implements emergency procedures in the event of equipment and computer software malfunctions.Operates computer software and electronic ordering devices to order product.Responsible for performing all job duties and responsibilities safely, accurately and with honesty and integrity.Other necessary and required duties.SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain professional demeanor regarding customers and co-workers.Requires basic knowledge of perishability and seasonality of products, proper product conditioning and handling, and safety and sanitation procedures.Requires a good understanding of overall company practices and Floral Department policies and procedures.Ability to frequently reach, lift and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to approximately 60 lbs.

Bends, stoops and reaches frequently.

Pushes and pulls fully loaded hand trucks and pallet jacks.

Performs repetitious arm movement to prepare, package and display products.Comply with and ensure compliance with company grooming standards and dress code.Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination are necessary.

Standing for six to eight hours.Mental alertness is necessary to ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities.

Requires knowledge of basic mathematics and weights and measures.

Must have knowledge of product variety, standards, perishability, product handling, sanitation, labeling and department policies and procedures.Operates telephones, pallet jack, hand truck, knives, scissors, safety cutters, stem cutters, chopper, wire, staples, hot glue guns, spray paints, balloon heat sealing machines and helium tanks.

Utilizes cleaning supplies and equipment.

Requires handling of latex products.Operates computer software and electronic ordering devices to order product.May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Scheduled hours will vary.

Good attendance is required.Exposure to potential hazards exists with respect to equipment and work aids necessary to perform job duties.WORK ENVIRONMENT Generally, works in a temperature-controlled office environment.
