Job Summary:
This position will operate full time at our customer’s Los Angeles County location, and provide specialized services to our client in a Laboratory facility. Responsibilities include the below:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Comply with Veolia and customer policies, procedures, quality and safety standards and environmental regulations. Provide oversight and leadership for Hazardous waste program. Perform duties related to hazardous and bio-hazardous waste as directed by the Customer.

Provide support during regulatory inspections and audits.

Ensure proper packaging of wastes into containers, and comply with applicable transport regulations and disposal/recycling site acceptance parameters.

Management of the central (90-day) and satellite storage areas to ensure compliance to state and federal regulations.

Complete inspections for Waste Storage, Satellite accumulation areas, Universal Waste pickup points

Ensure all containers will be properly labeled for storage and accumulation, in accordance to local, state and federal requirements.

Ensure all waste storage areas are kept in a neat and organized manor (i.e. general housekeeping, organization, efficient storage methods, etc.)

Coordinate and schedule off-site shipment of prepared wastes. Ensure cost effectiveness through sound transportation planning and careful disposal/recycling site selection.

Ensure a timely, complete and well communicated response to all service requests

Maintain a professional image to clients by answering inquiries and suggesting solutions to existing/potential problems.

Become familiar with all U. S. Department of Transportation (DOT)/Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and VES-TS regulations required in submitting paper work to expedite disposal of hazardous waste.

Operate and maintain all equipment in a professional manner to ensure optimum efficiency

Work with Veolia internal support team to profile waste, schedule shipments, prepare reports,etc
Qualifications
Education/Experience:

High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
-
College degree a plus
-
Prior experience in the hazardous waste/related industry required

Computer skills preferably the Microsoft office suite/Google
