Executive Office of the Board of Supervisors Vacancy AnnouncementThe Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is seeking qualified s for appointment to sit as the county’s Board of Equalization.

The Assessment Appeals Board conducts the assessment appeals hearings and makes fair and impartial decisions based on the evidence presented at the hearings on all property tax disputes between the taxpayer and the Assessor’s Office.Duties: Listen to appeals of assessed valuation on the local property tax roll; Apply relevant laws andprocedures that govern the appeal process; Collaborate with fellowboard members in deliberations; Prepare written summaries of evidence presented during hearings for findings of fact requests; Complete training course as required by Revenue and Taxation Code 1624.01.Minimum Qualifications: Eligible candidates must have a minimum of five years’ professional experience in California as one or more of the following: Certified public accountant or public accountant; Licensed real estate broker; Licensed attorney;Property appraiser accredited by a nationally recognized professional organization.Compensation and Commitment: $150.00 per session up to 4 hours; $225.00 per day for a session of 4-6 hours; $300.00 per day for a session exceeding 6 hours.

The successful candidate should be available an average of at least three days a week, Monday through Friday.
