Reporting to our Chief Medical and Quality Officer (CMQO), you will develop and implement a comprehensive, strategic plan that will advance patient safety and quality while improving healthcare disparities across the continuum of care.

This involves collaborating with clinicians, health system leaders and multidisciplinary teams to deliver measurable improvement in six areas of patient care:
* Reducing risk adjusted mortality
* Improving process and outcome measures
* Implementing value-based care redesign
* Enhancing the patient experience
* Reducing preventable readmissions
* Improving patient safety and infection prevention
You will also manage a team of leaders focused on improving clinical quality, clinical outcomes, clinical risk reduction, patient safety, infection prevention, clinical data management, and external reporting.

QualificationsWe’re seeking a strategic, innovative, creative leader and problem solver.

A healthcare-related Master’s degree is desired.

Experienced physician leaders are welcome to apply
– must be board certified and eligible for California medical license.

All candidates must have:
* Seven or more years of acute or ambulatory care experience
* Solid management experience in clinical quality management, performance improvement, patient safety, patient experience, risk management, and medical staff peer review
* Advanced certification or licensure in process improvement (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) desired
* CPHQ or CPE certification a plus
* Working knowledge of Joint Commission and/or NCQA accreditation processes
* Proven collaborator and consensus builder with extensive team leadership experience
* Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills
* Experience presenting to the media and to the public a plus
* Background with national/regional quality and patient safety organizations
* Sound judgment and decision-making abilities
* Ability to be an effective change agent
* Passion for quality and safety
* Experience facilitating clinical quality improvement teams preferred
* Experience consulting, coaching and mentoring nurses, physicians, and management in quality management and performance improvement
* Expertise in data management, including interpretation, comprehension and utilization of statistical and medical data
