Job Summary

The Executive Director, Business Development is a veteran sales director that creates winning capture strategies for large and complex bids, runs proposal development, offers teaming solutions and provides high-level client relationship management.

A senior leader that drives capture efforts throughout the sales lifecycle and partners with all teams and collaborating across Wondros departments to integrate our capabilities into large scale proposals and contracts.

The role will fulfill responsibilities across opportunity qualification, capture, proposal and project inception as well as some ongoing client interface to ensure success.

The ideal candidate will provide value, defined in collaboration with our Chief Strategy Officer by overseeing the implementation of business development strategies to heighten company profitability.

The duties include managing a small team of business development and sales professionals, identifying business opportunities to pursue, developing winning strategies and relationships with client prospects and writing proposals to support their ideas.

Key Responsibilities
Develop new business opportunities
Run capture on new business opportunities
Lead strategic capture efforts throughout the sales lifecycle
Perform market analysis, identify opportunities, develop and execute capture plans, and monitor competitor activity for each capture
Drive proposals, presentations, and other communications during pursuit
Identify, negotiate and leverage teaming agreements and strategic alliances
Maintain key client relationships from contract close into account development and growth.
Requirements:
8+ years of business development experience, at least two years in business development strategy
Ability to work with executives and senior leadership
Ability to prioritize and qualify federal pursuits
Skills and experience that indicate the aptitude to think critically, listen actively, distill complex information, and deliver impactful solutions
Strong communication skills, with the ability to ask tough questions; facilitate meetings and workshops; and tell a clear and compelling story during presentations
Direct people leadership experience is required with a demonstrated success of leading high-performing organizations to achieve corporate objectives.
