Executive Communications Manager and Event Producer

Minimum qualifications:* 4 years of experience in journalism, podcasts, blogs or multimedia communications* Experience in public relations and event production* Experience in identifying relevant storiesPreferred qualifications:* Video and audio editing experience.* Clear and creative writer, equally able to create slide presentations and draft email copy.* Ability to interact with executives with confidence.* Exceptional project management, budget management, negotiation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.* A knack for storytelling and risk taking.About the jobAs a member of the Global Communications & Public Affairs team, you will work cross-functionally to help communicate with journalists and other thought leaders; devise specific communications materials and campaigns; engage in face-to-face meetings with commentators and other opinion formers; and develop print and web-based material supporting these campaigns.

We’re looking for great communicators who can understand complex issues and explain them in person and also via well written, simple blog posts, FAQs, video scripts and more.Global Communications & Public Affairs’s (GCPA) Storytelling Lab assists Google Communications teams in the development of compelling stories, storytelling techniques, spokespeople development and emerging media opportunities, helping inform and educate audiences about the benefits of Google’s products, our distinctive company culture/values, and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day.We are seeking a quick-witted, entrepreneurial, and intellectually curious communications manager and producer to join our storytelling team.

To succeed here, you’ll need to combine creativity with the organizational skills to manage numerous projects, including producing virtual events and helping develop the infrastructure for our spokesperson and media training programs.You think outside the box, are comfortable creating systems to help scale work, and thrive when driving cross-functional collaboration.

You have newsroom, PR agency, events management or production company experience.We help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders–and our own employees–about the benefits of Google’s products, our distinctive company culture/values and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day.

You are quick-witted, entrepreneurial and intellectually curious.

To succeed in this role, you are willing to try new things and can manage numerous projects with tight deadlines.

Things happen quickly at Google, and to do great work, you need to be an enthusiastic team player who can work cross-functionally with partners across PR, comms, marketing, product and beyond.Responsibilities* Manage editorial storytelling calendar, library, and spokesperson training schedule.

Use learning and development best practices to suggest tools and techniques to our spokesperson training curriculum.* Display excellent communication judgment, and effectively collaborate with global teammates and executives across multiple time-zones to produce virtual trainings/press briefings.* Work closely with agency partners, project manage media training sessions, coordinate teams, and manage logistics.* Analyze feedback, conduct post-training reporting and analysis, and track quarterly progress.* Produce virtual events by securing storytelling elements, including multimedia assets and speakers.

Fluidly communicate event details and decisions to many different audiences in multiple different ways (face-to-face meetings, Google Sites, emails, spreadsheets, etc.).
