Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers is looking for an energetic, customer-focused  Equipment and Yard Supervisor. In this role, you’ll help our team to organize the Monroe, Michigan yard for auctions, and you’ll work at our temporary auction sites in the region.

The Opportunity: 

This position is to focus on DEI Operations and Yard display /inventory. The position will be responsible for identifying all items coming into the yard, inspecting the assets on RBA platforms and displaying the equipment in an orderly fashion. When the asset transacts, exiting the assets out of the yard within our administrative systems. From time to time, inspections will happen outside or the RBA site, these inspections will be coordinated with Chehalis Equipment Manager.

In this role you’ll:

  • Manage, monitor, maintain, and implement the auction site’s Ritchie Bros. Inspection Operations (RBIO) Program standards, procedures, best practices, and guidelines and integrate those efforts with the yard layout and equipment set up procedures

  • Maintain strong connectivity with the Designated On-Site Safety and Environmental Coordinator and promote a culture where the health and safety of our employees is top priority for all

  • Assist in the development, evolution, and adherence of our EH&S policies and procedures including our efforts to achieve COR certification

  • Oversee the efforts of Refurbishing as it relates to the schedule, budget, quality control, and accounting of refurbishing operations

  • Oversee RBIO quality control

  • Assist on the road with inspections and appraisals, travel will happen

  • Oversee the customer experience as it relates to Yard and DEI at the auction site

  • Recommend best practices to improve Yard and DEI processes

  • Oversee the production of sale advertising materials

  • Monitor key performance indicators

  • Integrate the efforts of the Operation’s Team with the objectives of the Sales team

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Regional Operation

  • Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for the your safety and safety of your team, co-workers,and customers.

Here’s what you bring: 

  • A University Degree in Business Management or commerce is preferable.

  • 5 years related work experience

This job will require you to: 

  • Have a valid, clean driver’s license

  • Climb on and off large equipment and trucks

  • Work both indoors and outdoors year-round

  • Work regular overtime, including weekend hours at the auction sales

  • You can expect to work extra hours for three weeks prior to each sale, during each sale, and for two weeks after each sale

  • Travel to other auction sites when necessary.
