eComm Merchandise Manager

Job Description The Merchandise Manager will have direct accountability for managing and driving Direct to Consumer growth through inventory forecast planning and merchandising strategy.

The role will lead merchandising strategy and inventory demand planning for all finished goods and packette and deluxe samples across all DTC channels.

Duties and Responsibilities: Builds the item-level demand sales plans for all core and product innovation ensuring the total roll up meets the channel’s topline financial targets across all DTC.

Partners with the Planning Team to execute a seasonal buy that aligns to the channels inventory targets.

Regularly analyzes sales and inventory data and uses information to affect future inventory planning and reacts quickly to shifts in consumer behavior.

Identifies business opportunities and risks through day to day analysis of SKU level sales performance.

Monitors SKU performance on an ongoing basis to meet financial and strategic goals.

Drives DTC results by managing assortment, merchandising, promotion and digital shelf.

Analyzes customer basket analysis data to create virtual bundles and cross sales and upsell strategies with an emphasis on growing the site average order value and product discoverability.

Forecasts inventory needs for all sample programs including packette checkout sampling and beauty bag initiatives for all Direct to Consumer channels.

Creates and analyzes sample data to understand customer adoption rate to full size.

Partners with the Digital Marketing Team to determine email planning that aligns with the total company direction and channel sales plan.

Coordinates with Digital Marketing to support key brand focuses, key products, themes & campaigns throughout the year, supporting companywide initiatives and brand values.

Successfully achieves a balance of core and innovation through featured on-site presentations and outbound marketing.

Creates an exclusive product strategy for brand owned sites through market research, basket analysis and competitive research.

Manages and presents commercial needs to Executive Team that are on budget and on brand including specific product needs and exclusive kits.

Manages brand site ancillary product needs including gift with purchase and issue creative requests as needed.

Coordinates with Operations on special projects including sampling, gift with purchase, and incremental product needs.

Provides weekly and monthly sales reports by SKU and explain key business drivers and identifies opportunities to meet sales plan.

Evaluates the effectiveness of sales strategies and reacts accordingly to increase sales conversion.

Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree Minimum 3 years of experience in demand planning, merchandising, and buying within the beauty industry is preferable.

In-depth experience with DTC sales planning and inventory management.

Proven ability to understand the market, recognize product potential, and lead assortment planning from a merchant’s perspective.

Extremely organized and detail-oriented with ability to multi-task and prioritize initiatives with high ROI while managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced competitive landscape.

Strategic thinker with an ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and influence across groups.

Capacity to think “outside of the box” with a test & learn state of mind.

Understanding of website metrics, data analysis, and reporting tools.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
