District Account Manager

FANUC America is currently searching for a District Account Manager in the Southern California area to join our team. The District Account Manager will direct sales of CNC and Motion Systems including account management and sales coverage for assigned accounts within the selected District.

Accounts to include but are not limited to Machine Tool Builders, Machine Tool Retrofitters, Specialty Machine Builders and Automation Integrators. Primary responsibilities will include: Manage all activities within specified accounts and districts including all direct selling efforts to plants and engineering offices to meet or exceed established CNC and Motion Systems unit targets. Apply selling techniques on new projects and opportunities meeting the needs of the individuals at the customers, identifying complex sales situations, and manage and direct company resources to “win” the business and grow FAC CNC and Motion Systems market share. Increase FAC CNC and Motion Systems product market share and revenue at new customers, utilizing cold-calling, data mining and lead follow up techniques. Develop good relationships with key personnel at all levels of plant, engineering and management within accounts and establish FAC as a sustaining resource. Initiate and establish direction and content of quotations by providing complete scope of work from customer.

Provide pricing direction, and review quotation prior to submittal.

Review proposals with customer for a clear and thorough understanding of the FAC content and competitive advantages, and negotiate to a successful sale for FAC CNC and Motion System units. Support FAC resources on sold projects insuring complete understanding of deliverable coordinating activities between customer and FAC resources such as Application Engineering. Solicit input and feedback from customers on CNC and Motion Systems operation and new requirements to provide direction on product improvements and new products to increase FAC’s CNC competitive advantages and market share. Manage company assets through accurate CNC and Motion Systems monthly forecast, pipeline orders, and support in the collection of overdue payments. Act as main interface for customer to assist with issues such as bill of material development, and delivery information. Organize, schedule and prepare presentations/demonstrations for customers with support from engineering and/or marketing as required.

Other duties as assigned Ideal candidate will have the following experience, education and knowledge: CNC or Automation background and experience, with working knowledge and/or aptitude to be able to provide technical sales to machine tool builders; retrofitters, Specialty Machine Builders and Automation integrators. Previously proven selling and negotiating skills Excellent interpersonal skills, listening, and written and oral communication. Excellent management skills to manage accounts and to organize and plan for many simultaneous and complex issues Knowledge and established contacts within specified customer base, or proven ability to be able to quickly establish same. Proficient in operating PC including Microsoft Office Bachelor degree in Engineering or Business related field, or equivalent relevant experience 3 years’ capital equipment sales experience, CNC and automation equipment preferred. Proper use of a personal computer and other smart devices. Ability to travel by car or by plane to areas, including possibly remote sites, in a timely fashion to meet customer requirements.

Good visual acuity, hearing and speaking is required. Ability to communicate clear and concisely during presentations.

Willing to work occasional overtime when required to meet special deadlines in response to customer requirements Extensive travel required.
