PURPOSE AND ROLE:
The Distribution Center Manager is a professional, self-motivated individual responsible for the overall management of the warehouse, inventory, shipping and receiving. Organize the safe and efficient storage and distribution of goods, and to ensure that orders are fulfilled correctly. Responsible for prioritizing tasks to meet expected shipping dates and maintaining an accurate inventory.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate all shipments, ensuring compliance with interstate laws and regulations
- Respond to shipping complaints, lost items, and damages
- Review and analyze budgets, expenditures, and operations
- Supervise and manage inventory, warehouse, shipping and receiving teams
- Provide leadership to help team develop skills and meet goals
- Track and report shipment results
- Develop and manage logistics KPIs
- Develop and document standard operating procedures
- Analyze financial impact of logistics changes, routing, shipping modes, etc.
- Design, assess, and implement new strategies and initiatives
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with company processes
- Train, coach, and evaluate team members
- Assist coordinators, warehouse team members, and others when needed to meet schedule
- Plan and execute formal inventory management procedures
- Perform root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies by interacting with team members and other departments
- Record and track overages, shortages, damages, returns, and shipping functions to ensure accurate records and inventory levels
- Maintain high level of Quality, Customer Service, and regulatory compliance
- Promote and ensure a safe work environment by advocating safety training, accident preparedness, and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with peers, team and senior management in order to communicate effectively and strategically implement solutions
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, transportation, logistics, business or related field (or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience)
- Minimum of 5 years of inventory control experience
- Minimum of 2 years of prior supervisory/management experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills
