At Aspiriant you’ll join a collaborative team of tax professionals in our Exclusive Family Office providing tax advisory and compliance services to our high net worth clients.
The Tax Services team is experiencing growth and have an immediate need for an additional Director
– Tax Services.
As a member of the Tax Services Team, the Director is primarily responsible for the administration and delivery of income, gift, and estate tax services to our clients.
This person will work closely with our Wealth Managers in managing client relationships and the development of our tax associates.
You will
–
Review an interesting variety of complex returns for wealthy clients and their personal holdings, which includes review of personal, partnership, corporate, trust, foundation, and gift tax returns, related tax work papers, and financials
Review quarterly estimates and projections
Handle tax audits and resolve tax notices, working with other tax staff
Perform tax planning and research
Manage all tax projects performed by your team
Anticipate problems and develop contingency plans ensuring projects and returns are completed on time and as expected
Serve as technical expert to wealth managers on tax-related issues
Serve as internal firm resource and authority for tax issue consultations and resolutions
Identify and communicate regarding tax-related opportunities and exposures
Identify and communicate relevant tax legislative developments to wealth managers and clients
Ensure that tax services capabilities are understood and made available across the firm where appropriate
Work with tax staff to plan the engagements to ensure all returns and related tax matters are timely delivered and resolved.
This entails interacting with wealth managers, clients, and the client service team to ascertain data needed for tax preparation and planning
Effectively motivate others to accept new ideas and adopt firm initiatives
Coach/mentor individuals on performance opportunities and strengths
Practice and exemplify the firm’s commitment to professional excellence
Develop long-term professional relationships with clients and others within the firm as well as others in the business community
Identify and participate in new business and cross-selling opportunities
Ensure short-term and long-term work initiatives are consistent with the strategic direction of the firm
Assist with ad hoc projects

Executive presence
Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced environment
Exceptional client service and communication skills (both verbal and written) with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
Seven to ten years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience, particularly in public accounting, family office, or wealth management
Team player attitude, willingness to help others and to mentor staff, and comfortable working in a team environment
Good organization skills, attention to details, and reliable
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Occasional travel and ability to work extended hours during busy season
You have

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
CPA – Required
Master Business Taxation – a plus
