Director Sales – Remote

As a member of the organization’s management team, performance includes demonstration of the following accountabilities: leadership, communication, mentoring, empowerment and resource management.

The Director oversees all sales functions and sales personnel of the Retirement Product Solutions (RPS) division.

This position has the responsibility for setting the sales strategies and budget, to provide market and strategic insight, and for working closely with marketing and all business units to position products or services to achieve a maximum sales potential.

In addition, the position assists in the development of industry-relevant content.

The goal being to become a strong conference presenter and author for our vendor and association partners.

Lastly, this position assumes the lead role in development of the RPS marketing databases and implementation of campaigns.

This effort is done in collaboration and approval of Product Management and division head.

This is an exceptional leadership role for someone who has significant experience selling to banks and credit unions.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate the sales function across the business unit.
  • Develop and manage the annual sales business plan and strategies in conjunction with the business units and marketing.
  • Develop and manage the sales budget, and participate in the overall budget process.
  • Research and develop strategies and plans which identify sales opportunities, including cross-sell to other business units.
  • Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, strategies and methodologies.
  • Participate in development of major client accounts, and coordinate the management of all other accounts.
  • Participate in the development of new products and services.
  • Establish and implement short and long range goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures.
  • Represent the company in major client contacts and conduct sales presentations.
  • Develops market-leading topics
  • Work with business units and other management to develop long-range business plans for the business unit.
  • Develop and manage the internal and external sales team, including recruiting, training, coaching, designing compensation programs and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Acquire and grow in personal knowledge regarding the Ascensus client base, industry developments, market condition, products and trends.
  • Researches and develops relationships with industry associations (all products) and technology companies in order to promote Ascensus products.
  • Develop and deliver industry-relevant topics for presentation to large conference audiences including the ability to deliver the presentation.
  • Oversees the development and, if needed, the revision of third-party contracts to provide the maximum benefit to Ascensus and its end-users.
  • Coordinates marketing campaigns with Product Management to ensure timely promotion of RPS products and services.
  • Oversees the maintenance of RPS’ CRM system and data as it applies to clients and the marketing process.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Demonstrated success in sales excellence and sales management – selling to banks and credit unions.
  • Experience in consultative, solution-based selling with highly developed “closing” skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex sales and to interact with senior level management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills for broad range of audiences.
  • Ability to work at a strategic level, yet manage the details throughout the sales and closing process.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain high level relationships.
  • An understanding of technology in the business process.
