Director of Services

Director of Services Safe Parking LA, a non-profit homeless services organization is looking for full time leadership position, Director of Services. The Director will oversee operations and infrastructure to ensure that Safe Parking LA continues to thrive and fulfill its mission. S/he will identify strategies and systems to improve organizational efficiency and productivity while maintaining an engaged and high performing workforce. RESPONSIBILITITES include the following:- Engage and work in collaboration with the leadership team on matters of policies,communications, operations, and strategy; act as staff liaison as appropriatewith stakeholders, government agencies, funders and partners – Develop and manage infrastructure required to successfully deliver and expand programoperations to ensure that best practices are executed in homeless services,responsible for outreach activities to maintain occupancy rates for programs – Develop partnerships and strategies in the nonprofit, private, and public sectors thathelp Safe Parking LA advance its mission- Provide oversight to human resources activities such as recruitment, hiring andsupervising, coaching, and training staff, interns and volunteers – Ensure ongoing regulatory and legal compliance, and provide oversight to all contract,risk management, client grievance and termination activities – Monitor organizational performance metrics and work in partnership with the ComplianceManager in all related reporting efforts- Responsible for operations of parking lot programs, ADA compliance and emergency protocols – Regularly provide verbal, written, quantitative and qualitative analyses, briefings,written policies and recommendations to the Executive Director and Board of Directors- Exempt position that requires flexibility to work and visit multiple locations and beon call for emergencies QUALIFICATIONS – Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience required;advanced degree or professional certification preferred- 2 years of program leadership experience and direct staff supervision- Experience recruiting and managing volunteers and interns- Broad knowledge of facility management with demonstrated technical expertise,especially with LAHSA, DMH and DHS systems preferred- Experience managing large-scale projects and driving change initiative- Skills to produce reports with accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis- Excels at operating in a fast paced-community environment and readily adaptable to changing circumstances- Ability to look at situations from several points of view, high comfort level workingin a diverse setting – Can delegate responsibilities effectively, persuasive with details and facts – Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, experience writing policies – Excellent computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and Access – Prior experience working with people experiencing homelessness is preferred – A valid California drivers license, auto insurance (as required by law), access to reliable and timely transportation to program sites and off-site meetings – Background check (Live Scan) as necessary and required by funders or regulatory agency- Bilingual a plus About us: Safe Parking programs are a safe and legal homelessness intervention to stabilize and connect to resources for people who are living in their vehicles. All program locations include access to a restroom facility and the security of a guard.
