We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales to join our Emerging & Scaled business team (E&S). The E&S team focuses on serving mid and small sized businesses with our advertising solutions, helping them reach their audience and achieve their marketing goals on the Spotify platform.
As a Director of Sales for the E&S business, you will play a pivotal role in developing and expanding our presence across the West Coast. You will lead a team of sellers, working closely with them to drive growth, build client relationships, and deliver exceptional results. Reporting to the E&S leadership, you will be responsible for crafting and implementing a strategic go-to-market plan tailored to the unique needs of E&S clients across the West Coast.
What You’ll Do
- Regional Growth Strategy: Take ownership of the growth strategy for the E&S business, staying informed about regional trends and effectively communicating these insights to your team.
- Team Management: Lead and manage a team of Client Partners, providing coaching, development, and setting revenue quotas and critical metrics to ensure team success.
- Client and Agency Relationships: Build and nurture strong relationships with key E&S clients and agency partners, serving as the main point of contact and ensuring client satisfaction.
- KPI-Driven Strategies: Develop and implement measurement strategies based on key performance indicators to drive success and demonstrate the value of our advertising solutions.
- Market Understanding: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, translating them into strategic opportunities to drive business growth.
- Quota and Account Allocation: Determine individual quotas and account lists for your team members, optimizing resource allocation.
- Strategic Insights: Develop strategic insights, find opportunities, and provide structured performance reporting within your market or market vertical.
- Go-to-Market Strategy: Define and implement the go-to-market strategy, representing Spotify’s voice in the E&S sector.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain expertise in Spotify’s advertising products and developments, identifying cross-selling opportunities aligned with customer business goals.
- Market Analysis: Conduct independent market analysis to identify, prioritize, and secure business opportunities based on the dynamics and customer strategies specific to E&S.
- Reporting and Cross Functional Partnerships: Own reporting and manage cross functional partnerships for your region, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Knowledge Sharing: Foster a culture of knowledge sharing, disseminating standard processes and outstanding work across the team and the broader organization.
Who You Are
- You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- You have 10+ years of experience in the digital media space, 3+ years in managing a team.
- You have proven ability to lead meetings with multiple senior partners.
- You have pre-existing relationships with marketers across the West Coast.
- You are in alignment with Spotify’s values and a passion for Spotify products and marketing.
- You have strong existing relationships with top marketing decision makers
- You have extensive knowledge of performance marketing, including industry trends, measurement, attribution, and competitive product knowledge.
- You have excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build trust with C-level clients by understanding their business needs.
- You have deep knowledge of digital advertising buying and ad tech platforms.
- You have competency in hiring, team building, and mentorship.
Where You’ll Be
- This role will be based out of LA office
- Spotify offices are located in the Arts District in Downtown LA
- In-office expectations are 3+ times per week
The United States base range for this position is $137,999 – $197,142, plus equity, plus bonus or commission. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
