The Department of Psychiatry at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, an academic teaching hospital and affiliate of Harvard Medical School, is seeking a Director of Psychology to oversee the psychology section of faculty across the department and serve in a leadership role for psychology within the institution.
The department provides care to a diverse population of patients with high medical co-presentations and is a major teaching site for the Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School Psychology Internship Training Program and Psychiatry Residency Training Program.
We are seeking a mid to senior career level clinical psychologist professional who has demonstrated a strong academic record of success as a scientist-practitioner with outstanding clinical acumen and an established program of research.
Preference for candidates with established expertise in clinical research associated with psychotherapy including an emphasis in cognitive-behavioral and “third-wave” theory, treatment, and program development.
Responsibilities will include management of the psychology section (including partnership with existing psychology leaders of clinical care, education and research), outpatient clinical services, teaching/training/supervision, and the development of clinical research programs.
Applicants must have completed an APA-accredited doctoral program in clinical psychology, an APA-accredited internship, and be licensed in Massachusetts (or license eligible).
Academic rank at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training, and achievements.
