The Director Professional Development is responsible for evaluating and implementing AEG Vision’s training and development program for our Doctors of Optometry and our Optometric Technicians in addition to reviewing and updating our current practices to create and deliver a training plan complete with materials, tutorials, instructions, and learning resources such as online modules and guides.
The ideal candidate will be a confident public speaker and a knowledgeable, experienced trainer/facilitator with at least a basic understand of the practice of Optometry, who is up to date on the latest tools and resources needed to improve practice protocol training as well as delivery of care capabilities.
This role will be key in the development of standardized billing and coding policies, creating a standard onboarding process for new optometrists and technicians, expanding scope of practice and elevating patient care in our practices.
Duties & Responsibilities Develops a process to assess training needs, including onboarding orientation for doctors and optometric technicians Consult with departments, managers and leadership Conceptualizes and creates training materials based on data and needs Communicates training needs and online resources Contacts and utilizes outside vendors and resources for instructional technologies Tests and reviews created materials Facilitates and conducts training for optometrists and technicians, which will require travel to Practices and to markets for group training Master trains SME’s on various AEG programs Responsible for deployment of doctor satisfaction surveys
