Job DescriptionThe Director of Product Management, Marketing is a key member of the Nordstrom Product Management team, responsible to support of technology within the Marketing portfolio for Nordstrom.
The scope of Marketing portfolio includes consumer communications, personalization programs, CRM, and tools used to drive paid and unpaid marketing.
In this role, you will work with business stakeholders to drive enterprise initiatives to deliver outstanding product experiences, improve user satisfaction, and drive enterprise OKRs.
Product Management is responsible for making sure we build the right products and features for our customers and business units.
To accomplish that, product managers plan the product roadmap and prioritize the applicable technology backlog, lead product discovery, and measure and communicate results of the feature portfolio in production, all while ensuring stakeholder alignment.
This is a highly visible role and requires ongoing partnership with Marketing leadership to transform how Nordstrom evolves and scales personalization and audience management for existing Nordstrom customers.
In addition, the role will involve responsibility for content management and integrations across Marketing systems, planning and deployment modernization, and a scaled approach to Marketing testing.
The right candidate for this role will also help guide development of new experiences and functionality across a wide range of areas, from on-platform advertising to improved customer preference management.
The Marketing product director needs to work closely with product partners in the e-commerce and customer/data management spaces to ensure that the Marketing product roadmap aligns to our evolving platform capabilities and our customer flywheel.
In order to succeed, candidates will need to be collaborative, technical, and results-oriented.
It will be important to comprehend the nuances of customer data and the ethical uses.

Develops roadmap strategy, vision, business benefits, and prioritization of goals for the websites, apps and other channel initiatives to drive marketing efficiency and customer acquisition and retention
Ensures alignment on priorities and direction by partnering with other groups, stakeholders and leaders
Partners with UX, Engineering, and Research on feature design
Drives ownership of features and services throughout the product lifecycle for our cross-channel customer experiences
Collaborates with peers and leaders across the enterprise to solicit needs, define vision and ensure outcomes align with enterprise priorities and goals
Hires and supervises an efficient and effective team that meets the needs of the product management strategies
Partners with technology teams to deliver key features and functionality that enhance the customer experience across Nordstrom channels
Conducts data-driven analyses to continuously maintain a pulse on performance and the state of the business
Monitors & identifies customer needs staying current on industry standards/trends and respond by making adjustments to user experience and product roadmaps
Maintains a strong understanding of available technologies and apply technology solutions, where appropriate, to improve efficiency and ultimately benefit the customer
Reviews operating practices and procedures, determine whether improvements can be made and work to implement changes as appropriate
Presents strategies, plans and updates to all levels of the organization, including executive leadership on a regular basis.
You own this if you have…
10+ years’ experience or equivalent with 5+ years of management experience required, specifically in product management with technology or ecommerce company preferred
Four (4) years of prior relevant experience in building martech products and/or knowledge of commonly used tools for email, paid, social and unpaid marketing.
Added bonus if you have familiarity with content management tools for marketing campaigns.
Bachelors’ degree in math, statistics, finance, economics, or related quantitative discipline is preferred
Ability to inspire others, including demonstrated experience managing and leading strong teams
Ability to define, measure and analyze processes to identify improvement opportunities
Technical background and understanding of software development principals
Knowledge of a/b testing fundamentals
Ability to build relationships cross-functionally with multiple teams from areas such as Analytics, Engineering and User Experience
Demonstrated ability to achieve strategic goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
