About You:

You are a strategic marketing professional with exceptional communication skills. You possess a deep understanding of the digital advertising and marketing ecosystem across all channels and have experience developing marketing strategies and best practices to grow brand awareness and create compelling and differentiated product positioning. You’re proactive, influential and data-driven. You have experience effectively leading marketing teams while partnering closely with team members across the organization to accomplish goals.

Position Overview:

The Director of Marketing will report into the COO / Co-Founder and will be responsible for developing, implementing and executing the company’s overall marketing strategy with a goal of increasing market share and maximizing revenue opportunities.Marketing activities include increasing brand awareness, generating demand for AUDIENCEX’s products and services, developing product marketing strategy and materials, and providing training to team members from our Sales and Account Management teams.

Marketing Responsibilities:

  • Create and own go-to-market strategies for new products and services
  • Oversee product marketing efforts in defining clear and compelling messaging and unique product positioning, differentiating our products in the market, and will positively impact sales enablement and demand generation 
  • Develop and implement brand strategy, ensuring the brand is positioned consistently throughout internal and external channels; lead the content marketing strategy that positions AUDIENCEX as a thought leader in digital advertising
  • Oversee marketing efforts to generate demand for the company’s products and services across all owned (web, social, email, content) and paid (advertising, search, event) channels, driving awareness and increase acquisition opportunities 
  • Drive and prospect client engagement through online, public relations, social and event marketing activities
  • Ensure marketing collateral spanning sales presentations, one-sheets and whitepapers, are clear and compelling for mid-market agencies and marketers
  • Partner with the People Ops team on employer branding, culture initiatives and internal company communications
  • Work closely with the leadership team to ensure marketing efforts are aligned with the business strategy and trajectory
  • Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends to better understand needs and challenges of current and prospective clients
  • Oversee marketing analytics, tracking the impact of strategic marketing activities and utilizing insights to improve and/or make adjustments

People Management Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day management of Marketing team members, including conducting performance reviews and team meetings, and participating in one-on-one meetings
  • Work with other internal leaders to plan, communicate and drive strategy
  • Manage team KPIs, quarterly goals and regular reporting
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams through excellent communication and related understanding of business needs
  • Establish best practices and standards for the Marketing team

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience, preferably with 3+ years of experience overseeing a marketing team and function in ad tech, martech or tech
  • In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of programmatic advertising and the digital advertising ecosystem, key stakeholders/vendors, digital campaign management and monetization metrics
  • Strong track record of developing and leading marketing strategies and plans including building market-driven business cases, creating compelling messaging materials, and developing and executing marketing and product launch plans
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to spot original branding opportunities
  • Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements
  • Ability to understand, simplify and articulate complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Impeccable team leadership qualities and competencies including having a strategic mindset, situational adaptability and accountability 
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills; ability to engage and inspire team members to their full potential
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and all levels of management; success at building and maintaining senior-level relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation and training skills
  • General MS Office or Google Suite experience; proficiency with Keynote 
  • Experience with Hubspot or other marketing automation tools
  • Experience with content management systems, preferably WordPress
  • Familiarity with a CRM such as Salesforce or Sugar
  • BA/BS degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising or related field preferred
