The Role:
We’re currently looking for a Director of Growth (New Business Development) to join our team. To succeed in this role, you are clear, thoughtful, strategic, detail oriented, articulate, and highly organized. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You have a strong sense of urgency, time management skills, and have the ability to galvanize the right people around an opportunity or a problem.
How You’ll Spend Your Time:
New Business/Prospecting:
- Identify new business opportunities and work with the leadership team/brand leads to determine a plan for pro-active pitch possibilities
- Constant networking with pitch consultants and industry experts, attending industry and networking events to prospect new opportunities
- Facilitate and lead RFPs and New Business pitches:
- Manage pitch timelines and budgets
- Serve as the day to day client or consultant contact on new business pitches
- Act as the main point of contact for internal teams, clearly communicating expectations
- Anticipate RFP needs and offer out of the box solutions for replies
- Constantly mine and interpret information from a variety of sources (trades, referrals, etc) as it relates to vetting new business opportunities
- Track and update agency fees against incoming opportunities and annual new business plan.
- Develop and maintain a prospect database
Organic Growth:
- Partner with brand leads to identify new business opportunities on their accounts.
- Develop the tools needed to proactively acquire new business with existing clients (cases, prototypes, best practices, etc)
- Work with brand leads to solidifying monthly new business meetings with existing clients
- Build the right teams – once an opportunity is identified, assemble the appropriate cast
Marketing and PR:
- Identify marketing opportunities for the agency – events, conferences, sponsorships, awards, etc
- Maintain the company website ensuring content is up to date and relevant (cases, awards, etc)
- Oversee all agency owned social media and ensure content is being pushed out on a regular basis
- Manage all agency marketing events, including any creative collateral or materials that accompany
- Identify PR opportunities for the agency – panels, speaking engagements, articles, thought leadership, etc
- Collaborate with PR partners to identify appropriate press outlets and execute opportunities
- Track and collect all press related content for the agency
Planning
- Work with CGO and Executive Leadership on developing a strategic annual marketing and business development plan (including budgets and approach)
- Measure and track results of marketing and business development efforts and provide quarterly reports to Executive Leadership
What We’re Looking For:
- 10+ years of Account/Brand management experience in an agency environment
- 8+ years of New Business Development experience in an agency environment
- Proven track record of building relationship with new and existing clients
- Sincere interest in consumer brands and creating meaningful consumer experiences and relationship
- Strong time management skills, ability to meet deadlines and multi-task
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent presentation and communication skills with client and internal teams
- Exceptional attention to detail, diligence and follow-through, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks at once
- An optimistic personality and a can-do attitude
- Extremely proactive with exceptional problem solving skills
