To provide vision, leadership and guidance of our marketing, communications and messaging initiatives and the significant role these play in building and ensuring the continued engagement and support of our constituents, we seek a Director of Development Marketing to serve as a creative thinker, strong communicator, inspiring leader, and highly collaborative member of our team.

As Director, you will serve as a key member of UCLA Development’s Donor Engagement leadership team, will provide counsel to our senior leadership on an overarching marketing and communications strategy, and will lead staff in the implementation and execution of all aspects of marketing, communications and messaging for UCLA Development.

In this role, you will develop and manage a comprehensive marketing and communications program to enhance visibility and build awareness of the importance of philanthropy at UCLA, and its role in supporting the breadth, depth and excellence of UCLA’s students, academic programs and faculty at local, national and international levels.

As Director, you will work closely with administrative leaders to ensure that UCLA is consistently, accurately, and effectively communicating to donors, community constituencies, media, the public, and other enterprises.

You will be a strong campus voice advocating for and educating about development and the critical role of philanthropy at UCLA, and will strategically position and clearly articulate the mission, aspirations and goals of UCLA Development to all constituencies.

Candidates for this role must possess a minimum of 10 years of professional marketing and communications experience to include significant experience in fundraising and/or a related field such as sales, marketing or business development.

You will have demonstrated success in the development and execution of a strategic marketing program coupled with the ability to articulate goals, strategies, tactics and benchmarks in a complex organization with a diverse and large number of stakeholders.

You have superior writing and editing skills and are an excellent communicator.

Your prior experiences have given you proficiency in how to effectively manage staff, provide direction, and advance the goals of an organization with a commitment to excellence and a creative approach.
