Director of Content, Technology Practice

The Position The Director of Content, Technology will work in a fast-paced, dynamic and diverse content environment, supporting client programs across B2B and B2C technology audiences.

This rising senior-level position will serve as a primary editorial voice for the practice group and will lead in conceptualizing, packaging, writing, and editing a variety of content – from op-eds and bylines to white papers and newsletters
– working alongside both our clients and dedicated account teams.

The ideal candidate must have a passion for crafting stories about a variety of subjects and industries and consistently meets deadlines while juggling multiple assignments.

The candidate possesses impeccable research, strategy development, writing and editing skills, all with a penchant for grammar, active voice and Associated Press style.

Above all, he/she/they must deliver content that satisfies clients’ needs while crafting exciting, engaging and well-educated pieces that make any product, platform or thought leadership idea shine within the media.

He/She/They must have a background in journalism and/or copywriting, as well as experience with drafting content that can be amplified across a variety of platforms.

Deep product experience is a major plus, as is a passion for communicating higher-level executive or corporate platforms that speak to the trends hitting today’s technology news.

Candidates must have the entrepreneurial spirit and passion to work alongside the Managing Directors on shaping the role into one that not only excites him/her/them but will also emerge as a true differentiator for the practice group and agency at-large.

What You’ll Do Write, edit, and source content in a variety of formats, including articles, Q&As, bylines, white papers, newsletters and more.

Produce content that shows clear understanding of a variety of technologies, including cybersecurity, 5G, data analytics, gaming, SaaS, AI and more.

Create content that is relatable to the relevant audience, has shareability potential, and makes great use of the chosen media format.

Collaborate with the Managing Directors of Technology and the account team leads to develop content strategies that meet client needs.

Create and implement a system for content optimization to improve performance and reach client goals.

Identify relevant trends that can be incorporated in ongoing strategies.

Manage editorial calendars across multiple clients.

Research industries/markets and relevant studies and/or interview high-level experts to develop engaging and relevant branded content for the technology practice group.

Edit and proofread content created by internal and external content writers.

Partner with the AllisonPartners Media Team on strategies, pitch development, team counsel, etc.

to help craft stories that will stick with key audiences Help development professional development programs for junior staff who can benefit from a journalist’s POV and related guidance on writing and crafting compelling content Potentially partner with the marketing team on agency collateral development and external marketing What You’ll Need At least seven years of editing and writing experience, as well as a proven track record with a variety of outlets and publications – both business and technical.

Experience in journalism preferred; experience in an agency environment or client a significant plus.

Experience writing for or on technology companies via blogs, long
– and short-form copy assignments (whitepapers, reports and social posts), and video scripts.

Proven ability to produce, edit, and manage content that demonstrates a clear understanding of various industries.

Superior writing, grammar and Associated Press style.

Ability to adapt writing style to meet different tones and needs across our portfolio of clients Ability to prioritize, oversee, and complete multiple projects simultaneously on tight deadlines.

Passion for technology (enterprise and consumer) and current events/news.
