– Develops, recommends, and oversees the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
Ensures consistency with established Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH) mission, goals, and objectives and ensures achievement of department/area goals and objectives.
– Recommends, implements, and monitors capital and operating budgets.
Ensures that actual expenditures are consistent with planned expenditures as established in annual budgets and as adjusted for significant variances in census performance versus plan.
Ensures that actual staffing and utilization are consistent with census performance.
– Oversees interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, counseling, and recommending termination of assigned staff.
– Promotes and participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives in order to gain productivity and operational improvements.
Develops, measures, and gathers benchmarking data to assist in evaluating effectiveness.
Serves on committees and attends and conducts meetings and seminars to enhance and maintains an awareness of the department/area to current techniques and procedures.
– Develops and maintains cooperative working relationships with Physicians, community organizations, and other healthcare facilities in order to gather and exchange information and develop and implement solutions to problems while initiating new programs.
