WHAT YOU’LL DO The Director of Business Excellence
– PMO, has responsibility for overall business process governance and management for New Product Development (NPD) within the Electrophysiology division.

This role is responsible for business process creation and maintenance, resource management, data analysis, visualization and reporting, and implementation and management of portfolio management tools.

This is a high growth business division working on for Abbott’s cardiac ablation business, including cardiac mapping systems and tools, software applications, and catheters.

Primary Responsibilities: Work cross-functionally with R&D, finance, marketing, operations, regulatory, and quality to incorporate functional needs into creating a business process that will run in parallel with the design control process as projects move through early feasibility stage to full scale commercialization and eventual obsolescence Create tools and processes to support the phase gates associated with the business process Create clear set of deliverables, and roles and responsibilities to adhere to the governance phase gate process Create and update procedures, work instructions, templates, and RACI charts associated with portfolio management governance process Manage implementation and maintenance of IT and portfolio/resource management tools Provide reports on resource utilization for financial planning cycles to enable project-based budgeting structure Create and maintain portfolio dashboard and communicates with various functions needing project information Provide training to the organization in areas of responsibility Benchmark EP Portfolio management against best-in-class practices and organizations Use strong business acumen, domain expertise, strategic thinking, and financial data to enable fact-based decision making and to enhance portfolio management maturity EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING Required Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration Minimum 10 years of experience in roles of progressively more responsibility in medical device industry Strong background in creating business processes and associated documentation Demonstrated experience with resource management and portfolio management tools and processes Demonstrated verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills Experience in working with cross-functional teams Experience in communicating with and presenting to senior leadership Demonstrated working knowledge of data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau Ability to effectively work in a cross-functional team achieving results through influence and contributing strategic insight Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.

Preferred MBA Professional PMO certification or designation.

Experience with medical device PMO Project management of electro-mechanical systems (electrical, mechanical and software) Working knowledge of FDA 510(k) and/or EU MDR regulatory requirements Program/Project Management certifications Academic GPA: 3.0 or higher WHAT WE OFFER At Abbott, you can have a good job that can grow into a great career.
