Director of BD, Partnerships

Based in Los Angeles, HelloTech provides professional and affordable on-demand tech support via a network of fully vetted independent technicians throughout the US. HelloTech providers deliver a wide range of services, focusing on computer support and repair, home networks, smart home devices and televisions. We are at the intersection of several powerful trends including the “gig” economy, work from home adoption, smart home and in-home aging. The Partnerships team provides pro install and whole home tech subscription solutions for retailers such as Walmart, Target, AAFES, and Xfinity, as well as for OEMs such as SimpliSafe, Logitech, Ring, Google, and Level, home warranty companies such as Assurant, Frontdoor, and many more. 

HelloTech is seeking a Director of BD, Partnerships to aggressively build a pipeline, develop, and grow our Partner network. Reporting to the company’s Head of Business Development and Partnerships, you will be responsible for focusing on new partner growth in the areas of OEMs, retail partners, real estate, warranty, and more.. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Highly motivated business development executive, assertive, out-of-the-box thinker, focused on growing our partner portfolio and working with Head of department on existing lines of business to expand SOV and push new initiatives 
  • Build and scale our partner portfolio focused on core setup and installation partnerships via aggressive outreach, inbound response, and prospecting
  • Learn the business quickly, autonomously close business deals and move through the organization from initial discussion to contract signature 
  • Prospect, set meetings, control own schedule, and exceed partner expectations
  • Develop, manage, and complete sales reporting for all assigned accounts & market segments that includes weekly, monthly and quarterly results and pipeline forecasts 
  • Work with internal stakeholders, seeking assistance within the organization on proposals, offer development, demos, proofs of concepts, strategy development, 3rd party solutions, etc. 
  • Use your extensive existing network and use appropriate tools to help HelloTech reach our expansion goals and bring in new lines of business and revenue
  • Define business targets and opportunities, assess the competitive landscape, identify retailer needs, and brainstorm solutions with internal stakeholders
  • Work closely with Partner Success team to build strong, long-term client relationships through frequent contact including weekly, quarterly, and annual business reviews 
  • Use partner check-in meetings to actively expand current partnerships into newlines of revenue and engagement and find opportunities to increase AOV, SKU mapping, and overall visibility of HelloTech within partner ecosystem

What we’re looking for:

  • 10+ years of sales, partnerships, business development, solution selling, management consulting, or strategic operations with a service/subscription product 
  • Powerpoint/deck preparation and data analysis expert with ability to analyze prospects needs and tailor message and come to the table armed with knowledge about your prospects 
  • Business development expertise, partner-facing polish, strong closing skills, and a proven track record of sales growth for areas of direct accountability are paramount to the success of this position 
  • Self-starter with high EQ that can quickly learn the business and maintain a pipeline with aggressive goals of a long sales cycle product 
  • Highly developed communication skills and ability to establish relationships both internally and externally with senior decision-makers 
  • Proficiency in CRM software (Pipedrive, Salesforce, etc.) 
  • Proven project management and organizational skills (the ability to efficiently and effectively get things done yourself and through other people) 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to thrive in a small, growing team 
  • Multiple strong references and examples of work/presentations
