OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Market Research is a driving force in using insights to inform the strategy for all Paramount Motion Picture releases.
Contributes to the design, execution and implementation of domestic marketing research plans.
Works collaboratively with marketing, distribution and to transform research insights into impactful strategies.
Reports to the VP and supports the EVP of Worldwide Research and Strategy.
– Crafts qualitative and quantitative research to address key questions and challenges
– Manages research planning and delivery (including vendor management, questionnaire development and reporting)
– Translates research findings into impactful direction
– Builds visual documents to communicate research findings and data dynamically and succinctly
– Evaluates each motion picture’s target audience identifying potential opportunities and challenges
– Handles the operational and analytical details of research test screenings
– Analyzes weekly marketing tracking studies and assesses the competitive landscape and overall strength of the campaign in-market
– Actively monitors research trends and proven methodologies to help bring innovative new approaches to the Studio
– Conducts focus groups (when possible)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 5-7 years’ work experience in marketing research (in-house or research firm)
– Possess excellent project management skills with ability to lead all aspects from inception to completion
– Highly organized, team oriented, problem solver able to work well under pressure and balance multiple tasks
– Strong communicator with professional writing and presentation skills
– Great analytical and numerical skills with phenomenal attention to detail
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience in entertainment or related industry research
– Experience with data visualization platforms (e.g.
Tableau)
– Knowledge or passion for movies
– Masters Degree in social sciences, business, statistics, marketing or related area
