Director/Leader of Food Safety & Quality

The Director of Food Safety & Quality is a key leadership role within the company and reports to COO.

The role works collaboratively and cross functionally with the Executive Leadership, Quality Assurance (QA) and Operations (Ops) Teams to develop, implement and maintain best-in-class Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) programs to safeguard product safety and quality.

Responsible for all quality, food safety, and sanitation functions for this well established and growing food manufacturing company.

Responsibilities The Director of Food Safety & Quality has the primary responsibility for: Safeguarding product safety and quality Ensuring production and distribution of products that meet or exceed regulatory and company standards Driving continuous improvement in FSQ programs & own FSQ programs for raw materials and finished products Provide cross-functional leadership and mentorship, FSQ education, training, and technical support to company workforce Experience B.S.

in Food Science or other related science majors.

– 15 years of senior FSQ leadership (as a Director or Senior Director) experience in food industry.

Expert in FQS systems, programs and practices BRC, SQF, FSSC 22000 or other GFSI-based certification; hands-on experience on implementing and/or maintaining BRC, SQF or FSSC 22000 or other GFSI-based food safety programs Strong working knowledge of sanitation procedures, techniques and practices Strong knowledge of current FDA and/or USDA requirements and regulatory compliance experience Demonstrated strategic and tactical leadership Excellent communication (verbal & written), persuasion and negotiation skills Demonstrated ability to drive and lead continuous improvement efforts Demonstrated ability to manage and build high-performing teams Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, independent and critical thinking ability Statistical Process Control (SPC) implementation experience
