Role Overview

InStride is looking for a strong IT Director to lead our internal technology teams.

This includes Help Desk, System Administration, SaaS Ops, Security, and Enterprise Software Implementation.

The candidate should have a passion for employee efficiency, automation, and security.

Ideally, you would have run similar teams in the past and will use that experience to be a key enabler of our success as we scale.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale a high impact IT team that enables our hybrid workforce, digitizes internal operations, and keep us secure
  • Look after the annual IT budget and work with CTO and Finance to improve cost-effectiveness
  • Work closely with internal departments in how technology can creatively be deployed to improve internal operations
  • Ensure standard methodologies as well as implement tools, and frameworks for DevOps, SRE, build and release, security, compliance, and cloud engineering
  • Use data and digital enablement to continuously improve employee efficiency and operations
  • Ensure on time, on budget, and high-quality results that increase business value
  • Proactively communicate and handle partner expectations

Ideal Profile

  • 10+ years of experience in corporate IT teams with 5+ years in manager and/or Director level roles
  • Extensive experience leading or implementing:
  • IT service management (Jira Service Management, ServiceNow)
  • Employee Productivity Tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom)
  • Identity and access management (okta)
  • Facility technology (networking, telecommunications, employee and visitor management, hoteling meeting av, digital whiteboards, space analytics, safety monitoring, access control)
  • Security Policies, Controls, and Initiatives (SOC2, ISO 27001, CIS, NIST 800-53, vulnerability testing and management, EDR)
  • Device Management (JAMF, Workspace One)
  • Privacy Policies, Controls, and Initiatives (GDPR, CCPA)
  • Hardware and Software Procurement and Provisioning
  • SaaS Management (zylo, blissfully, zuri)
  • Experience working with and leading vendors to implement key corporate solutions (Intranet, CRM, HRIS, marketing automation, etc.)
  • Enjoys leading, developing, and mentoring a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and admins towards reaching their potential while delivering high quality on-time work
  • High affinity for digital enablement of internal operations using SaaS, automation, and self-service
  • Enjoys the challenge to be part of a high growth startup that delivers significant impact for employers and their employees
  • Exposure to higher education institutions through direct experience and/or passion for the education space
  • Eager to start fast, self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and enjoys taking the reins in sometimes ambiguous situations
  • High EQ, comfort with ambiguity, and a “no job too small” startup mentality
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science related field and/or work experience
