About the Role:

We are looking for a self-starter Director of FP&A with a bias towards action, exceptional partnership and communication skills, and know-how to balance getting the details right while keeping pace with our growing business.

In this role, you’ll contribute meaningfully to business planning and forecasting, including the development of annual operating budgets and multi-year plans, and support ad hoc projects with opportunities for broad cross-functional interactions.

You will also help guide process efficiencies and assist in managing, coaching and growing the FP&A team.

You will gain invaluable experience with visibility into Demandbase’s business & operations and have a large impact within the Finance organization. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Build and maintain financial models, prepare financial reporting, analyze KPI trends and explain forecast versus actual variances, with a focus on R&D and G&A departments
  • Collaborate with senior management in the creation of, and ongoing tracking against, the annual operating plan and recurring forecasts
  • Partner with investor relations to articulate the business from a financial perspective
  • Help to hire and develop a growing FP&A team 
  • Assist with special projects as requested and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as the business grows, including M&A related analyses and integrations

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in finance operations or FP&A at a SaaS company
  • Deep understanding of SaaS metric calculations and concepts
  • Experience working closely with both R&D and G&A teams to manage budgets and measure key business drivers and metrics
  • Ability to work on both the tactical (dive into the details) while at the same time thinking strategically (big picture)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate financial information in an easy-to-understand format.

    You should also be comfortable interacting with the executive management team and other senior roles

  • Outstanding forecasting methods and techniques
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative abilities
  • Detail-oriented approach with a passion for problem-solving and improving efficiency
  • Technology industry experience required and public company experience preferred
  • CPA or investment banking experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (can perform complex functions)
  • Experience with financial planning and reporting software, Adaptive Planning expertise a plus

Success in this role includes:

  • Establishing and nurturing relationships with R&D and G&A leadership, their underlying team and across the rest of the organization
  • Owning and building complex financial models – from near term forecasting to long range planning
  • Analyzing and delivering key insights from comparable company tracking 
  • Producing high-quality financial reporting on a timely basis for external and internal consumption
  • Performing insightful financial analyses, including identifying key variances, opportunities and risks
  • Growing and mentoring a high performing FP&A team of “A” analysts
