Director, Event Operations and Club Safety

Our Director of Event Operations will lead the teams operations on match days, in the office, at outside events, and alongside soccer operations as needed.

This role is crucial to Angel Citys success as we seek a storied operations hire that manages significant staff to ensure the safety and event cohesiveness of Angel City events.

This role is based in Los Angeles.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned operator to take a step up into a greater role defining a new organization.

* Manage and oversee Angel Citys security recommendations and relationships at all events and in Angel City office
* Create and maintain working relationships with local health officials to adhere to recommended Covid-19 protocols for the safety of the team, staff, and fans alike
* Create and institute safety guidelines for Angel City office, external events, and match day
* Ownership of all match-related details, movements, and communication to Angel City staff and any other key vendors, stadium, staff, or other staff associated with executing a successful Angel City game including but not limited to relationships with broadcast, player and soccer operation staff assistance, merchandise, matchday fan activation areas, etc.

* Create and enforce club standards for credentialing, wristbanding, and access for match day
* Create and own match day run-of-show from operational perspective, ensuring collaboration and execution of clubs activations from an operational perspective including timelines of load in, pregame fan activities, security of players and special guests, and post game breakdown
* Manage game day operational needs as Angel Citys conduit of all requests and conversations
* Cultivate working relationship with staff at clubs gameday venue for optimum activations on behalf of Angel City
* Manage game day staff needs and execution
* Oversee vendor selection and staff recommendation for all Angel City events for non-games
* Manage budget associated with all operations for optimum use of funds
* Support all Angel City events with expertise, including but not limited to, club activations in sponsorship, ticketing, fan engagement, community, media relations/press needs and marketing

Requirements

Qualities and Qualifications Desired:

* A minimum of seven years working in venue operations, leading teams, and ideally with a background in being a liaison to security and/or law enforcement entities
* A positive attitude with a teamwork mentality dedicated to achieving goals on behalf of Angel City pun intended
* Ambitious individual with high career aspirations
* Ability to adapt
* Ability to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays
* Proven track record of event operations success
* Strong communication skills including written, verbal and interpersonal
* Benefit to have experience with high level event management and security needs
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
* Personable team-player who believes in the mission and values of Angel City and the NWSL
