portfolio.

This position will report directly to the EVP, Development, Design and Construction.

The Director, Development is responsible for assisting with the overall success of URW’s innovative real estate development plans creating better places together to shop, live, work and play.

Our culture embraces creativity, diversity and progression, nurturing everyone we work with to reach the top of their profession.In this role, your main missions are:Actively lead, mentor and inspire team members to develop and execute opportunities consistent with company strategic 5 Year Business planningUnderstand and develop a wide network of current and future thinking and relationships across a wide spectrum and retail disciplinesBold vision of shop, live, work, play development plans and execution upon sameConstantly develop, define and execute innovative strategic options to optimize the valuation of an assetPartner with applicable internal stakeholders to create and execute compelling and unique commercial opportunities supported by comprehensive financials for future investment considerationApply strong business and financial acumen with the ability to engage in the details and be hands on, as well think broadly about markets, strategy, and operations of the portfolioDirectly influence the scope, budget and direction of the retail, food and beverage, and entertainment related development projects while successfully prioritizing project pipelinesWhat we are looking for You.

.Minimum Bachelor’s degree in related fieldDemonstrated strategic & business development skills within the industryMinimum 3-5 years of relevant real estate development experience and proven track record in managing design, construction and development of multiple projects including retail, food & beverage and entertainmentExperience in all aspects of the development process, including strategic planning, commercial evaluation, team formation, approvals & permitting, design, underwriting, finance, construction and stabilizationPrevious experience assisting with leading a design build project and/or multiple small to medium construction projects as an executive within a real estate/construction development companyProven ability to oversee the initial structuring and ongoing problem solving of complex financial transactions to maximize both social and financial returns and manage corporate riskPolished, articulate public speaker, comfortable with a wide variety of audiencesStrong financial and effective written communication skillsExperience managing and working others and collaborating in multi-functional teamsExperience with state/local politics, government planning, and resource allocation processes, including establishing effective relationships with major city officials, town planning boards, and neighborhood groupsOrganized, detail-oriented and results orientedAn entrepreneurial and creative approach to developing new, innovative ideas that will stretch the organization and push the boundaries within the industryComfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty; the ability to adapt nimbly and lead others through complex situationsCollaborative, flexible, team player; relates well to colleagues at all levels of the organizationValues and possesses experience building highly effective cross-functional teamsValues diversity to ensure multi-talented team strengths; promotes a spirit of inclusion and equityIdentifies employee opportunities for growthCreative and passionate spiritWhat is important to us The following values bring us together and guide our actions.
