The Director of Business Development is self-motivated, enjoys working in the fast-paced online space, and is looking to utilize and apply their existing business experience at a rapidly growing company.
This person will lead a sales team responsible for creating long-term value for the organization including optimizing current partner relationships, negotiating new partnerships, finding new revenue opportunities, and executing deals.

THE ROLE:
Successfully lead and mentor current business development team to generate incremental companywide revenue growth and deliver best in class customer service.
Lead growth, generate new partner opportunities across key categories including CPG, Retail, Consumer Electronics, Travel, Luxury Goods, other Brands, etc.
Build, develop, and lead a team of 11 business development executives with plans to grow the team over time. Develop sales strategies based on market trends, competitive analysis while achieving a high level of team performance. Grow relationships with senior executives (VP, SVP, C-Level) within brands, affiliate networks and OPM agencies to present existing and future advertising solutions. Construct and help present client value pitch materials highlighting features and benefits.
Help lead RFI/RFP responses for customers through effective stakeholder management (internal and external) solutions, proposal building, and the closing of opportunities.
Leverage industry contacts, expertise, and product knowledge to build lasting strategic relationships.
Lead with data and analytics to create results-driven opportunities to grow business.
Create strategies to help the team monitor partner activity and analyze performance, identify areas of improvement and recommend ways to increase adoption and revenue.
Help the team prioritize prospects and sales activity through our HubSpot CRM platform.
Create and share best practices with other members of the team and the company.
Negotiate terms, execute contracts and work with internal teams to launch new partners.
Lead partner and client Quarterly Business Reviews help to ensure goals are achieved. Achieve and consistently exceed revenue goals.
Work with cross functional teams to develop tracking, reporting, new executions, or other technical integrations when necessary.
Understand all the company’s service offerings and clearly communicate them to the business development team and clients.
Collaborate with management on sales goals, planning, and forecasting.
Act as the liaison between the advertising partner and internal teams while maintaining community integrity.
Travel to on-site partner meetings and select industry events to represent Slickdeals.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field.
6+ years of work experience with at least 4+ years of experience in account management, brand management, performance marketing, digital media sales, sales or consulting. Proven track record of mid-large market / enterprise sales success – exceeding targets and ability to ramp quickly.
Must be data and metrics driven.
Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
Strong communication and delivery skills in writing and speaking, both internally and externally.
Skilled in a collaborative management environment and ability to work and communicate with members of various teams. General computer and email proficiency (Google suite). Must also be proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
