The Content & Partnerships team is responsible for the design, development, and execution of strategic initiatives, with a focus on driving product innovation, content creativity, and audience growth.

Within Content & Partnerships, the Growth & Mobile Partnerships team is responsible for Snap’s growth strategy, market development, and partnerships with telecom carriers and OEM device makers. 

We’re looking for a Director, Americas Carriers Partnerships.

This is a regional leadership role based in the US, covering North America and LATAM.

We are seeking a talented and experienced executive with proven success managing a team to drive partnerships with Mobile Telecom Carriers regionally.

You will be responsible for influencing carriers at the C-Suite level, along with managing and building a dynamic Carrier partnerships team.

This leader must have experience transforming traditional relationships and strong expertise navigating cross functional partnerships.

Ultimately, the role is to drive Snapchat growth and AR innovation by strategically supporting partner priorities and elevating the unique role Snap plays in their success.

A high degree of emphasis will be placed on strategy development and identifying key trends and value exchange partnership drivers to further develop Snap’s role within the telco and mobile ecosystem.

Ideal candidates will have a strategic business development background as well as extensive experience working closely with product, engineering and technical teams.

Based in the US, you’ll collaborate with the x-functional teams to achieve the following:

  • What you’ll do:

    • Develop and drive Snap’s Americas Carrier partner strategy; build and execute on partnerships to deliver DAU and engagement goals, drive innovation, and support revenue goals

    • Create new contacts with regional Carriers, while enhancing and building upon relationships with existing Carriers

    • Define, negotiate, and close complex product and distribution partnerships deals

    • Build and maintain a world-class, inclusive, diverse, high-performing team, with a strong culture

    • Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, legal, finance, sales and marketing teams to advocate internally for carrier partnerships and align on strategy/terms

  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

    • Experience setting strategic vision for the team, to contribute to the overall strategic vision for the larger organization

    • Extremely hands-on structuring, negotiation and execution experience of complex strategic deal constructs 

    • Experience building high performing, inclusive teams

    • Management experience and skills with proven experience managing and influencing other teams in a highly-matrixed company

    • Experience demonstrating thoughtful risk-taking, challenging the status quo and confidently driving innovation for maximum impact on partners and the business

    • Experience executing DEI actions, accountability and resources across programs with the broader global organization

    • Strong existing network and experience forging relationships with c-level, senior leadership and key stakeholders across telcos in the region

    • Exceptional analytical, communication and presentation skills with technical, contractual and financial issues

    • Passion for AR and it’s potential to transform the future

  • Minimum Qualifications: 

    • 15+ years of business development, partnerships and strategy experience

    • Proven subject matter expertise in Carrier ecosystems with structuring and negotiating the business, technology and legal aspects of carrier partnership agreements, with a track record of closed strategic carrier partnerships across the entire value stack

    • Experience building high performing, inclusive teams

    • Strong existing network and experience forging relationships with c-suite, senior leadership and key decision makers across telcos in the region

  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • MBA or JD or equivalent

    • Strategic thinking.

      Experience setting strategic vision for the team, to contribute to the overall strategic vision 

    • Lead by example.

      Extremely hands-on structuring, negotiation and execution experience of complex strategic deal constructs 

    • Cross-functional experience.

      Management experience and skills with proven experience managing and influencing other teams in a highly-matrixed company

    • Creativity.

      Experience demonstrating thoughtful risk-taking, challenging the status quo and confidently driving innovation for maximum impact on partners and the business

    • Experience executing DEI actions, accountability and resources across programs with the broader global organization

    • Experience operating with flexibility in a fast-paced, always-on, constantly evolving and collaborative environment

    • Experience working at a telecom carrier and at a consumer technology company working with carriers
