Growing research and development firm recognized for contributing to national security objectives by supplying innovative solutions to challenging technical problems faced by the United States has an immediate need for entry-level to mid-level Project Managers reporting to the Senior Manager, Scientific Computing. This is an exempt non-supervisory full-time position. Opportunities in Northridge, CA, Tucson, AZ and Chantilly, VA.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibilities will include administrative/operational project support to one or more programs, including the following activities:
Preparing and maintaining formal project management plans, including documentation of:
Objectives/Scope of Work
Contract Deliverables
Schedule & Milestones
Staffing Approach
Risks & Mitigation Plans
Needs for Government Furnished Equipment/Information
Budget management:
Planning & tracking staff labor hours
Monitoring travel & ODC expenses
Producing monthly financial status reports
Contract deliverable management & production:
Interacting w/deliverable owners to ensure on-schedule delivery
Review of deliverables before submission for completeness
Follow-up with customer to confirm receipt and acceptance
Generation of project management-related deliverables: project management plans, monthly reports, data accession list, end of contract transition package, etc.
Coordination of documentation deliverables, including: dictating contents/outline, soliciting input, consolidation and uniform formatting, proofreading
Program proposal and contract administration support
Coordinating generation of proposal cost volume
Proposal compliance, coordinating with POCs to collate components for submission
Collaborating with Contracts and Finance department to ensure all documents, financial accounting, and invoices are accurate
Additional responsibilities may include:
New business proposal management, including:
Tracking deadlines and ensuring all data calls are submitted on time
Coordinating response team tasks
Consolidation and uniform formatting of text volume input, proofreading
Compiling responses, creating and validating against compliance checklist
Cross-program coordination of resources, such allocating security, IT, IA costs appropriately
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years of experience in project management or administrative support
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
Capacity to work independently, in a team, and directly with external customers with minimal supervision
U.S. Citizenship and ability to acquire a security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Experience with Atlassian tools: Confluence, JIRA, JIRA Portfolio
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
An active security clearance
