The Credit Approval & Administration team provides education, guidance, and best practices related to First Republic’s credit culture and policy.

Our team includes members of the Executive Loan Committee and Credit Administration who approve and monitor loans in accordance with our credit culture and policy.

Responsibilities
Provide primary support to the Deputy Head of Credit Administration (“DHCA”) within the Credit Administration group (“Credit Admin”).

As a team, the Credit Portfolio Manager and DHCA will work to assure that the Credit Administration group has the tools, processes, and procedures to manage the Private EquityE/Venture Capital (PE/VC) lending portfolio’s performance, monitoring, and reporting effectively and efficiently.
With the help of the DHCA, the Credit Portfolio Manager will develop domain expertise for PE/VC lending, manage the reporting and analysis of the portfolio and individual credit, organize and participate in Portfolio Reviews and Analytics, participate in User Accepted Testing (UATs) for new portfolio monitoring tools, ensure policies and procedures for the portfolio are appropriate, well understood and consistently followed, and proactively escalate key risks related to the Bank’s PE/VC lending activities.
The Credit Portfolio Manager will also partner with DHCA, Head of Credit Administration, Chief Credit Officer, and credit associates to support Credit Administration’s FDIC, Internal Audit, Third Party Loan Reviewer and Auditor efforts related to the PE/VC lending practice.
What you’ll do as a Credit Portfolio Manager:
Manage the credit quality of the PE/VC lending portfolio.

This is including, but is not limited to,
Monitor and report high-risk credits/obligors on monthly/quarterly basis,
Escalate key risks related to PE/VC lending activities and individual credits to the DHCA, Head of Credit Administration, and Chief Credit Officer,
Monitor and report key risk indicates and lending limits and ensure adherence to PE/VC lending risk appetite,
Maintain and continuously improve a comprehensive portfolio of monitoring tools,
Partner with Credit Approval and Administration experts to ensure PE/VC lending policies and procedures are appropriate, well understood, andconsistently followed,
Participate in the UATs for PE/VC portfolio monitoring tools.
Responsible for industry analysis and domain expertise for PE/VC lending portfolio management including developing, preparing, and presenting on market conditions, Bank PE/VC processes, and portfolio insights.
Support Credit Administration’s FDIC, Internal Audit, Third Party Loan Reviewer and Auditor efforts by partnering with Regulatory Affairs, Credit Administration Leadership, and Credit Approval Leadership to administer regulatory exams involving the PE/VC portfolio.
Qualifications
You could be a great fit if you have:
5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: underwriting, credit, or portfolio management
Ability to thoroughly analyze credits on an independent basis and communicate finding in a concise manner
Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
The ability to work independently and as a part of a team
Extremely detail oriented and able to manage multiple complex tasks concurrently
Discretion with confidential information.
Systems & Tools:

– Microsoft Office (Excel
– VBA strongly preferred, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
SQL database is a plus
