Consultant – Corporate Governance

Aon is looking for a Consultant, Corporate Governance.

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting our Global Governance consulting group, within Aon’s Human Capital Solutions business.

We have a great opportunity for a governance professional with three to five years experience in corporate governance and institutional investor policies and practices looking to broaden their knowledge and serve as a consultant to companies of all sizes.

The Consultant, Corporate Governance will be a key member of Aon Governance’s Shareholder Engagement team.

The position may be virtual/remote or based in one of our offices.

Your impact as a Consultant, Corporate Governance Job Responsibilities: Identify and analyze our clients’ top institutional investors, prepare profiles and guidance on proxy advisor influence, voting histories, relevant policies and practices, and investment stewardship team contacts Collect and curate a significant volume of data and content for investor profiles and related guidance Research, assess and advise companies on Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) strategy and exposure items, with an emphasis on the influence of investor policies and expectations, as well as reporting standards, regulations, peer practices, and company strategy Help clients understand the consequences of low shareholder vote results and inadequate communication with shareholders, and assist in determination of possible courses of action to address and mitigate these issues Assist with shareholder communications such as talking points and proxy disclosure, considering institutional investor and proxy advisor audiences Research a wide range of corporate governance, legal and other matters Identify client issues and future needs, and pursue new or expanded work and develop client proposals Build positive relationships with colleagues and clients This position requires less than 10% travel You Bring Knowledge and Expertise Required Experience: 3-5 years of work experience preferred Experience in corporate governance, executive compensation, ESG, finance, data & analytics, and/or consulting Strong research, analytical and critical thinking skills Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with strong sense of personal accountability High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint and strong ability for learning and utilizing data and content platforms Ability to communicate complex strategies and content in an organized and articulate manner for a senior executive audience Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines while managing or contributing to multiple workstreams Strong consultative skills, including relationship building, process skills, and facilitation skills Knowledge of financial markets and investment management and ability to grasp relevant concepts Ability to operate independently, yet maintain open communication with team members on changing landscape/priorities Education: Bachelor’s degree with strong academic record in Economics, Finance, or related subjects or equivalent years of industry experience Graduate degree preferred but not required.

The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $115,000 annually.

This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans.

The amount of the incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
