Overview Position Summary: The Chief Stationary Engineer & Utility Manager will be responsible for managing all activities related to the generation and distribution of utilities for the Hospital. This includes providing supervision and oversight of other Stationary Engineers. Makes recommendations to the Director, Facility Operations of actions required to maintain sound operations of all utility systems. Provides leadership on strategic planning initiatives, daily operations and performance improvement initiatives. Collaborate with other leaders in Support Services and throughout CHLA to oversee the operational and regulatory functions of each area. Will assist Director, Facility Operations with establishing all budgetary aspects and will be responsible for monthly variance reports and established KPIs. Provides leadership and support in ensuring the environment of care is maintained for the comfort of all CHLA patients, families, visitors, contract workers and team members and administrative support staff. Ensures all program objectives set by the functional areas are in compliance including but not limited to, strategic planning, financial management, personnel management, program coordination, quality improvement, customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience as a Stationary Engineer preferably in a hospital setting. 2 years supervisory work experience in a healthcare work environment in a large organization. Education/Licensure/Certifications: High School diploma/GED required. Bachelors degree preferred. L.A. City Unlimited Steam Engineer License.
