Project ManagerLos Angeles, CAThe OpportunityThe Project Manager will lead a new initiative that will serve women both inside and recently released from the largest women’s jail in the US Century Regional Detention Facility (CRDF) in Lynwood, CA.The CRDF Project Manager will oversee all aspects of the CRDF Career Center Pilot Program.

In particular, the CRDF Project Manager will manage the performance of the implementation partner and ensure that the overall grant deliverables are being accomplished.

Strong project management, documentation, and reporting skills are required to ensure successful performance.

The position will require visits inside the Lynwood jail as well as coordinating with staff and participants outside of the jail.As part of our mission, we strongly encourage individuals who have lived experience of incarceration or involvement in the justice system to apply for this role.This position is currently funded through October 2022.

Continuation of the position is dependent upon availability of future funding which we hope to be able to secure.Who We AreThe Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) provides employment services to people with recent criminal convictions.

Across the United States, over 6,000 people participate in CEO each year, transitioning to employment that supports themselves, their families, and their communities.What began as a demonstration project of the Vera Institute of Justice in the 1970s to address employment barriers facing the formerly incarcerated following release in New York City has grown into the leading reentry employment organization in the country, where over 25,000 formerly incarcerated individuals have secured full-time employment since 1996.

In 2016, CEO embarked on a 5-year strategic plan to grow to serve 9,000 participants annually.Who You AreYou have at least three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years operating a workforce development program on a federal, state, and/or local level AND you have two (2) years of experience providing re-entry employment case managementYou have at least two (2) years experience in project management of grants with complex deliverables and reporting requirements preferredYou are committed to CEO’s mission and are interested in working in a fast paced, growing, results-oriented nonprofit environmentYou’re deeply dedicated to social justice and perhaps are already working in the re-entry fieldYou have experience collecting, analyzing, and applying data to drive program strategy and decision makingYou come to CEO with experience in project management, people management, and partner coordinationYou pride yourself in your ability to communicate effectively and recognize the value of continuous communicationYou’re comfortable with technology, including Google Suite and SalesforceYou display personal integrity and are personally and professionally committed to CEO’s mission and strive to make a deep impact on our participants’ livesYou have lived experience of incarceration and reentry and come to CEO with some basic Motivational Interviewing training (preferred, but not required)What You’ll Be Responsible ForKey responsibilities of the Project Manager include but are not limited to:Project ManagementDesign program elements to meet outcomesTrack tasks, progress, and timelinesDeliver accurate and timely reporting to funder and partnersEnsure that CRDF Career Center programming is connected to all essential in-jail services and postrelease supportive servicesPartner CoordinationEstablish a positive and collaborative working relationship with the implementation partnerProvide oversight to program quality and outcomesSupport and advocate for the needs of the partner, while also holding accountable to goalsAttend all required meetings, trainings, and grant-related events.

The Project Manager will act as a central point of contact with the CountyMaintain a people-centered approach and implement Motivational Interviewing practices in interactions with participants, staff, partners, and fundersPerformance ManagementClosely track progress to goals and outcomesAnticipate obstacles and issues and proactively work to minimize disruptionsGather and disseminate key performance information as well as success storiesCompensation and BenefitsThe salary range for this position is $63,700-$66,000.
