Case Manager – Staten Island

The Employment and Community Services Coordinator (Case Manager) will provide general case management and career coaching to program participants.

The ECSC will assist participants to develop an Individual Service Strategy (ISS), document progress, provide life skills support and follow up with participants, post-program exit.

The ECSC will work closely with the Coordinator for Workforce Development and DYCD to ensure compliance with the Advance and Earn training program directives.

Essential Responsibilities Develop and sustain positive working relationships with program participants to help them achieve their goals.

Engage in career assessments and planning with program participants.

Counsel program participants either individually or in a group setting.

Conduct initial reviews of potential new enrollees and provide guidance through enrollment process.

Coordinate opportunities with Corporate Account Developer and program participants to ensure good match.

Establish relationships within the community and organize outreach events for the recruitment of new program participants.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in human services, counseling or education required with a minimum of three (3) years of experience providing case management services to opportunity youth.

Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Highly organized, resourceful and creative with ability to meet deadlines.

Proven capacity to work productively in highly collaborative settings and to coordinate the needs of multiple stakeholders.

Flexibility to operate in a rapidly-changing work environment, with ability to adapt and be sensitive to the organizational culture.

Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with staff, program participants, employers, community agencies and DYCD.

Experience or strong capacity in instructing/mentoring program participants, with prior work exposure to teaching or training individuals is highly desirable.
