Assistant Construction Site Supervisor

Ferrante Koberling Construction, Inc. a boutique custom construction firm focused on high design projects in commercial and residential markets, is immediately seeking an experienced Assistant Site Supervisor with 2 – 5 years light commercial and tenant improvement construction supervision or 3 – 5 years as a working Forman in the trades. The right candidate will have on-site project experience with a keen understanding of subcontractor relationships, schedules, safety/risk mitigation, stacking trades, and protection of all job sites, materials, and equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Aptitude for reading full project drawings; This position requires daily review of all drawings and details and making sure the trades are building from these plans and specifications.
  • Must understand the time-sensitive nature of all construction projects and proactively push schedules and stack trade work, for maximum efficiency.
  • Must coordinate materials, fixture, and appliance layout to avoid conflicts.
  • Must hold daily meetings to review schedule, track progress, and address issues before they become problems with subcontractors
  • Must review all installation guides and operations manuals to ensure materials and equipment are installed properly, and warranties are protected.
  • Knowledge of and interaction with inspectors, inspections, permitting, testing and observations.
  • Streamlines subcontractor work, without sacrificing quality; Develops plan of action to make up for delays.
  • Procore experience; Responsible for upload of RFI’s, daily reports, daily photos, and schedule updates.
  • Develop site layout plan for (job office, dumpsters, portable toilets and sinks, signage, trash, and ash receptacles, staging area, storage area, fence, and gates).
  • Opens site daily; Signs-in all persons; Lock up site daily after checking that all persons are gone, and site is cleaned and secured.
  • Implement safety program; Conduct mandatory weekly safety meetings; Issues PPE to guests and visitors; Must promptly document and report all on-site incidents and accidents.
  • Organizes project; Keep Subs accountable for their materials and equipment; Cleans site; Clear potential hazards (must be willing to pick up trash and use a broom).
  • Document all materials and equipment; Accept and inspect all deliveries; Maintain project inventory.

SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:

  • Professional appearance; Excellent communication skills; Strong knowledge of construction practices, means and methods.
  • Must own and utilize basic tools; Must have valid driver’s license; and own a vehicle in good working condition (truck preferred but not required).
  • Must be legally permitted to work full time in the United States and must be fluent in English.
  • Must have knowledge of OSHA standards; Willing to obtain and keep current OSHA certification.
  • No less than 4 – years-experience working in construction field (provide references).
  • Computer literate; Capable of using basic office software (Word; Excel); Procore experience or equivalent.
  • Excellent written and oral communication; Commands and gives respect.
  • Motivated leader; Capable of working independently and in teams.
