WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
At Nike we believe in the power of sport to move the world forward by creating an equal playing field for all! We are looking for a Brand Manager to work on the Brand Defining, Purpose and Athletes team within the key city marketing organization to bring this vision to life. Key cities act as the voice of the consumer for our brand. We own the connection to the consumer on behalf of North America and the Globe. You will play an important role in driving brand defining narratives, ensuring we engage our key communities with purpose and empowering the athlete’s voice at Nike. As a Brand Manager, you will lead and drive brand plans and key consumer concepts in support of the Key City offense, implementing storytelling across all marketing channels for Nike LA. We’re looking for leaders with the ability to deliver on our brand and business objectives, connecting our members with the innovation, experiences and stories that position Nike as an industry leading sport and lifestyle brand. We seek leaders that are team and people oriented, possess a proven marketing acumen and are entrepreneurial in identifying ways to improve the brand and the business. 

You should bring a digital-first mindset at the core of your approach and understanding of all functions of marketing. You should be comfortable with ambiguity and be ready to dig in, work collaboratively and bring a positive attitude always. The candidate should be solution oriented, a team first collaborator, energy giver, passionate about sport, empathetic and curious to learn. Finally, the candidate should have comprehensive grasp on the sport, lifestyle and cultural pulse of the city of Los Angeles. 

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

– You will partner with your Director and team to drive our brand strategy and lead plans that fuel our seasonal offense in the city and drive brand results for Geo and Global initiatives.

– You will be responsible for strategic development, implementation and execution of plans executed in tandem across our digital channels (.com, apps, email, social and performance marketing) and our physical touchpoints (Nike Stores and Partners).

– You will be responsible for working across integrated marketing functions, constructs and external agencies to develop and implement plans across our Brand Defining, Purpose and Athlete initiatives in LA.

– You will act as the voice of the athletes for the brand, establishing meaningful relationships, mining insights and ensuring the voice of our consumer is heard.

– You will support an end-to-end process to gain insight from consumers including sport, lifestyle and cultural trends.

– You will oversee product integration into seasonal programming.

– You will manage asset development and distribution across multiple channels.

– You will deliver digital-first plans from ideation to execution.

– You will pioneer new ways of working with consumer construct and functional partners

– You will run and manage campaign progress, KPI’s, recaps and teardowns

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
This is a team sport and will require consistent collaboration, partnership and consensus with critical partner groups to build the Direct Brand offense of the future. You will report directly into the North America Brand Defining, Purpose and Athletes Brand Director in LA. You will work alongside a larger brand management team of directors, managers and specialists to build effective and efficient ways to encourage and connect with our key consumers in LA. You will collaborate with teammates across Nike at the North America and Global level to implement brand plans that will drive brand strength, fuel consumer demand and build our connection with consumers. 

You will also collaborate and partner with the following key internal and external partners:

– Communications

– Global, Geo and Territory Marketing Teams

– Agency & Production partners

WHAT YOU BRING

– Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or a closely related field

– 5+ years of work experience in consumer marketing (digital and/or experiential) or a related field is preferred

– Proven history of leading end-to-end marketing plans that drive brand and business results

– Strong understanding of digital marketing strategy and tactics across key channels including digital apps, email, .com experiences, paid media and social

– Demonstrated leadership skills informed by a people first approach, embracing diverse point of views

– Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentations and plan building

– Strong analytical skills and comfort with using art and science to inform plans and decision making

– Possess a strong understanding in analytics and proven capability to use data to drive business decisions

– Previous experience managing a marketing channel, combining both online and offline success criteria, is preferred

– Knowledge of the athletic industry and cultural trends in the marketplace with an understanding of the competitive landscape

– Enterprise leaders, always making decisions based on strategic priorates and aiming to grow our brand and business. 

– Strong knowledge and understanding of the city – Los Angeles

– Ability to lead and manage multiple projects at once, strong organizational skills

– Pro-active, can operate autonomously

– Positive “can do” attitude, strong team spirit
