Branch Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Branch Manager is responsible for the direction and management of a Branch Office, its employees, and its financial assets.

This person is responsible for achieving maximum results within established Excel corporate guidelines, policies, and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.

PERSONNEL-Ensures that qualified individuals are hired and that branch personnel are managed effectively.

This includes: Recruits, selects, and hires qualified branch employees.

Maintains proper staffing levels in the branch.

Retains and motivates qualified employees.

Administers the corporate salary program.

Ensures that all employees are properly trained in their current positions.

Develops individuals for future promotion.

Trains new employees and assists with their on-boarding with Excel 2.

PLANNING AND CONTROL-develops, implements, controls, and monitors the branch’s business plan.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT-Meets growth objectives, as assigned.

This includes: Takes initiative in implementing business development programs Sources new markets, internal and external Monitors and evaluates effectiveness of marketing efforts Sources acquisition prospects Makes external business call to prospective and current dealers Trains and encourages branch employees in business-development techniques and monitors their performance.

CREDIT-Ensures that the branch’s portfolio meets Excel’s corporate goals and standards.

This includes: Is alert at all times to both the quantity and also the quality of the branch’s portfolio Is thoroughly knowledgeable regarding all details of the company’s products.

5.

CASH CONTROL
– Ensures that Excel’s corporate cash control policies and procedures are strictly enforced.

This includes: Balances each drawer, at least monthly, at varying intervals.

Signs all invoices for payments.

Reviews all unused checks and ensures they are stored securely.

Reviews all bank deposits.

Safeguards all excess cash on hand and insures excess cash is deposited.

6.

COLLECTIONS
– Ensures that delinquency is controlled at acceptable levels, through training and effective utilization of branch personnel.

Personally works all loans that are potential charge-offs, first payment defaults, and accounts with NSF checks during the first three payments Personally works all delinquent Real Estate loans On a daily basis, reviews the work of individuals assigned to collections.

Ensures that all active charge-off accounts are worked to a conclusion.

Ensures that the staff is knowledgeable of the laws governing collection activity.

Ensures that branch employees are trained in effective collection techniques.

7.

LAWS AND REGULATIONS
– Maintains an up-to-date, functional knowledge of all laws and regulations, ensuring compliance at all times.

8.

REPORTS
– Analyzes reports related to the management of branch operations and to the development and management of the branch’s assets, taking action as appropriate.

9.

INSURANCE SALES
– Understands each insurance product that can be offered to customers, ensures that all branch employees are thoroughly familiar with each product, and that appropriate products are presented and solicited to every customer.

PROFITS
– Ensures that the branch meets the profit and profit-improvement goals established by and for the branch.

11.

CUSTOMER SERVICE
– Maintains continuous improvement in customer service, ensuring that all branch employees are alert to positive customer service opportunities.

12.

LEADS
– Branch to achieve its annual Performance Plan.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from four-year College or university; and 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills: Data Entry, phone answering, personal computer, 10-key, WPM 40 and Microsoft Office Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
