Betts Truck Parts and Service has a job opening in our Sun Valley facility. Betts is a family-owned company in business for over 150 years. We specialize in parts and service work for suspensions, brakes, wheel ends and more on a variety of vehicles. We offer aggressive compensation packages for qualifying candidates. We currently operate 8 locations on the west coast. Our Sun Valley store is open Monday through Fridays 7am till 5pm.

SUMMARY

Manages retail store and repair shop engaged in selling, replacing and repairing specific, related or general lines of merchandise related to the truck parts industry by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees and supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Frequent interaction and collaboration with other functional areas and business units to ensure company Top Level Metrics (TLM) are achieved

Manage employees engaged in servicing customers including following safe and efficient installation and repair of vehicles; delivery of parts and other tasks associated with management of accounts

Responsible for accurate inventory control of branch merchandise and completion of cycle counts, including core returns, in a prompt and accurate manner

Reviews suggested orders for merchandise prepared by Inventory Control and / or prepares requisitions to replenish merchandise on hand or already sold to customers

Reviews pricing policies and pricing exceptions on merchandise according to requirements for profitability of store operations

Follow established policies regarding transaction recordkeeping and bank deposits

Report unusual activity, customer complaints and discrepancies to management in a timely fashion

Store to be maintained in a clean and safe manner and appropriately secured during non-work hours

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages one subordinate supervisor who supervises a total of 3-7 employees in the Service Shop. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Also directly supervises 5-12 non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Driver’s license required, fork lift certification preferred.
