We develop digital, analog, and RF Systems on Chip (SoCs) for radar, navigation, electronic warfare, communications, processing, and other electronic systems.
These systems are used on Boeing airborne, terrestrial, and satellite platforms.
Designs are implemented with state of the art semiconductor process technologies including CMOS, GaAs, GaN, and SiGe.
SSED uses external wafer fabrication but performs design (architecture, RTL, synthesis, circuits, physical design, verification, packaging and test) in house.
SSED has numerous microelectronics projects, funded both by internal Boeing customers and external Government Science and Technology (S& T) customers.
SSEDs large staff of microelectronics engineers conduct research and designs microelectronics hardware in support of these projects.
The Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) Mission System Technologies (MST) organization is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for Microelectronics Research & Technology, to lead theSolid State Electronics Development (SSED) Capability Technology Team (CTT).
The successful candidate will manage and build SSED organizational talent with a team of highly educated engineers and scientists, and have responsibility for personnel and infrastructure in Tukwila, WA and Huntington Beach, CA.
In pursuit of Boeing’s research interests, the successful candidate will initiate and improve cross functional partnerships with others inside and outside Boeing to realize mutual benefit.
They will help others understand the vision and values of the organization and will translate it into actionable research plans.
The successful candidate will consistently recognize a wide range of risks, opportunities, and issues and determine whether action is needed to ensure organizational success.They will work in partnership with portfolio managers within and outside of Mission System Technologies todevise technology development strategies and ensure necessary resources are available toexecute projects and programs.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Position Responsibilities: Manages employees and mid-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Electronic and Electrical Engineering.Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and proceduresAcquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.Provides oversight and approval of processes.Manages, develops and motivates employees and mid-level managers.Forecast, obtain and manage personnel, facilities, services, equipment and tools to meet project and organizational requirements.Determine critical skills for the organization; develop and implement staffing and development plans to ensure necessary skills are available; ensure proper job classification of employees.Set employee goals and objectives; evaluate performance toplan on a recurring basis; and provide a fair and equitable work environment.
