A profitable, high-growth Biotech company is expanding their market planning team and adding an Associate Director of Market Research and Insights.

This dynamic organization is a global leader in the genetic testing business and develops innovative, first-in-class diagnostic tests to screen for a range of cancers.

They provide genomic insights to help physicians optimize treatment decisions for breast, colon, and prostate cancer, and are currently developing biomarker-based liquid biopsies to detect blood cancers.

The oncology testing market is growing exponentially, and this organization is on the leading edge of that wave, having doubled in size in the past three years and raising their market cap to $21B.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Commercial Insights, the Associate Director will lead a small team responsible for primary and secondary research, analytics and competitive intelligence, all in the oncology market.

You will be responsible for providing business insights and decision support that will optimize revenue and profitability.

Your team will develop and execute market research plans, including prioritizing and framing business questions, vendor selection, study design, report findings and insight presentations and recommendations.

Other duties include tracking competitor activity and preparing reports to senior management to support strategic responses to competitive activity.

In addition to market research and CI you will analyze secondary data sources to evaluate trends and correlations that will help the marketing and market access teams set strategies and deploy resources efficiently.

You will track and manage budgets, and continuously improve reporting and tracking mechanisms, both tools and processes.

This is a broadly defined assignment on a small, high-growth commercial team where you will uncover new business opportunities and present recommendations on a routine basis, so excellent leadership skills are required.

Qualifications:
10+ years of work experience in the pharmaceutical or clinical diagnostics industries, 6+ years of dedicated market research and analytics, including primary and secondary experience 3+ years of specific experience in the oncology / hematology market, working either for a manufacturer or a management consultancy serving the Life Science industry Experience supervising other analytics and insights professionals

The role will be based in the San Francisco Bay area after pandemic restrictions are lifted and relocation assistance will be provided.
