The Benefits Manager will be responsible for all aspects of comprehensive employee benefits, health and welfare, retirement benefit plans, wellness program, leave of absence and workers compensation.
This position contributes both at the strategic and tactical levels in planning, development and administration of employee benefits programs across all business units, as well as ensures all plans, programs and processes comply with applicable governmental laws and regulations.
This position will lead the benefits team and report to the Vice President, Human Resources.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for implementation, administration and compliance of health, welfare, retirement, and wellness plans and programs while ensuring consistency with best practices.
Together with the MDHR and VPHR, assist in the development of strategic total rewards plans, goals, and objectives, by using data to identify and evaluate benefit enhancements, and new benefit programs to meet the needs of our employees, and to be competitive in our various industries
Provide technical expertise and project management for annual open enrollment, renewals planning, vendor management, HRIS/data management, process automation, wellness campaigns and employee communications
Develop and drive wellness programs to better support employees and increase our current benefit offerings
Own all benefits data company wide, including entry and integration within our HRIS and insurance carrier systems, reporting, policies, auditing, compliance, plan documents, and regulatory filings
Lead, develop and motivate Benefits Coordinator (who is currently responsible for leave of absences, Workers Compensation and benefit administration), including monitoring and optimizing performance, workload and employee success
Together with Benefits Coordinator, act as the main point of contact for all benefits related queries for the new hires and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes, etc., providing a high level of customer service at all times and handling all issues in a confidential and timely manner
Together with the MDHR and VPHR, manage Leave of Absences, including Workers Compensation program
Responsible for ACA reporting and administration
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing and administration of benefits programs in a multi-plan, multi-business unit environment
Advanced knowledge in benefits plan design and administration
Working knowledge of federal and state regulations that govern benefit plans and leave management to include ERISA, ACA, IRS, FMLA, WC, ADAAA and other federal/state regulations related to the Company’s benefit programs
Working knowledge of Leave of Absences and WC processes and regulations
Proven experience in managing large scale projects including annual open enrollment, renewals planning, vendor management, HRIS/data management, process automation, wellness campaigns and employee communications
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
