Job Summary
• Provide leadership, vision, and management to the local engineering team and act as strategic business member of the leadership team
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Build and lead an agile and responsive team responsible for any and all engineering inquires
• Assist in establishing departmental goals, objectives an operating procedures
• Develop engineering and architectural (RCP/Floor Plan) drawings, calculations and acoustical modeling
• Review pre-construction design and documentation
• Assist with technical design, pricing and identify any logistical challenges
• Customer liaison for engineering inquires
• Meet with vendors/prospective vendors to help evaluate products
• Post sales project consultation
• Review project designs created by internal and external resources
• Review hour estimation for work based on needs analysis, scope of work and bid requirements
• Identify special requirements for project, including but not limited to: test equipment, specialized tools, rigging support
• Provide feedback to corporate and development management on process improvement opportunities and facilitate process improvement.
• Test audio DSP or video processing systems software required for system functionality
• Monitor and ensure labor expenditures do not exceed department budget
• Manage internal activities that support client training
• Manage or facilitate field testing of integrated systems and training client on use
• Remain abreast of A/V advances in the field and be able to identify areas of use in the organization Translate customer requirements into functional system designs
• Create and maintain engineering related documentation in accordance with company guidelines
• Maintain scheduling and resources for the department
• Travel to various job sites required

• Understanding of engineering aspects of audiovisual systems design and installation preferred
• Ability to motivate and effectively lead large project teams comprised of technical, administrative, and engineering personnel toward a common goal
• Understanding of construction project management applied to audiovisual projects
• Proficient with test and calibration equipment preferred
• Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
• Must have clear and professional communication skills (written and oral) both internally and externally
• Demonstrated customer service focus and client communication skills
Education and/or Experience
• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
B.S, degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field is preferred
• At least 10 years of A/V experience with 4 years of Engineering Management experience preferred
• Capability of managing multiple million dollar budget Integration projects simultaneously is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints preferred
• Experience operating in a complex matrix business environment is desirable
• Excellent PC skills, proficient in Microsoft applications including Microsoft Project
• Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL Driving Privileges standards
